Heesen Yachts is proud to launch a new iPad App featuring the revolutionary 65m Fast Displacement yacht GALACTICA STAR.
Heesen 40m sportster Galatea completes sea trials and exceeds contractual speed by 2.2 knots!
Heesen is proud to announce that following the launch on January 17th at their facility in Oss, the new 40m sportster Galatea moved to Hellevoetsluis for sea trials. On March 4th and 5th, in perfect sea conditions, Galatea achieved the impressive speed of 29.7 knots: 2.2 knots above the contractual speed. Powered by twin 3,800 HP MTU engines and equipped with gyro stabilisers, Galatea is the first in a new breed of Heesen superyachts. She derives from the very successful 37m class, of which 10 have been built, so her pedigree is clearly excellent. With her perfectly designed all-aluminium semi-displacement hull, Galatea is the incarnation of Heesen DNA: powerful performance, uncompromising interior design and peerless Dutch construction. Galatea will be delivered to her owners by the end of March 2014.
ABOUT HEESEN YACHTS
Founded by Frans Heesen in 1978 in Oss, the Netherlands, Heesen Yachts was the first Dutch shipyard to employ aluminium alloy for the building of yacht hulls. Since then, the yard has become a world leader in the design, engineering and construction of high performance, all-aluminium motor yachts.
In 1992, Heesen Yachts expanded their business to include the construction of displacement, long-range, steel-hulled yachts. Today the company can deliver magnificent private yachts within the 34 to 75 metres size range and beyond.
In 30 years we have delivered nearly 170 yachts. The current fleet includes aluminium and steel, semi-displacement and displacement yachts, and the new revolutionary Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF). Twelve yachts are currently under construction and their deliveries span through to 2016.
Heesen is financially secure, large enough to cope with complex construction, small enough to care about each project, motivated to pioneer innovations and dedicated to continuing the tradition of Dutch quality shipbuilding.
