How we define a Superyacht?
Since yachting began, before the seventeenth century in Holland, yachts have increasingly developed in construction techniques, styles and lengths. Today, yachts of various sorts are a major leisure, sport, lifestyle and global phenomena.
Since the increase in size, the term "Superyacht" came to be. There is now standard definition for a yacht or a superyacht and this is very much a shaded area.
In recent times a superyacht is generally classed as a yacht of 24 metres or longer, due to the Commercial Yacht Code classing 24m or larger with conditional criteria.
These "large" yachts typically require professional crews, carrying no more than 12 passengers, privately owned and flag registered.
Also, it is said yachts over 40 metres are classed as a superyacht.
