Columbus Yachts

Columbus Yachts is an Italian superyacht brand within Palumbo Superyachts, part of the wider Palumbo shipbuilding group. The brand was established in 2008 and draws on Palumbo’s longer shipbuilding and refit heritage, which began in Naples in 1967 as a carpentry and metalwork yard supporting the local ship repair industry.

Columbus Yachts is focused on custom and semi-custom superyachts, combining Italian design, modern engineering and the wider Palumbo group’s construction and refit capabilities. The brand has developed a reputation for technically sophisticated yachts, including hybrid projects, aluminium and steel construction, contemporary exterior styling and strong owner-led customisation.

The yard’s first major superyacht project was the 54-metre Prima, launched in 2011. Since then, Columbus has expanded its portfolio through custom yachts and model families including the Atlantique, Crossover and Sport lines. These ranges are intended to give owners a balance between established engineering platforms and individual design choices.

Columbus Yachts has also become associated with hybrid propulsion and more environmentally conscious yacht technology. Projects such as the Sport Hybrid 40m and the 50-metre Anjelif demonstrate the yard’s interest in combining luxury yacht construction with technical innovation, efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

As part of Palumbo Superyachts, Columbus benefits from a broader Mediterranean shipyard network and the experience of related brands and facilities involved in new build, refit, repair and specialist yacht services.
