Fort Lauderdale is one of the most important yacht centres in the world and is widely known as the “Yachting Capital of the World”. Located in South Florida, it combines extensive marina infrastructure, shipyards, brokerage, crew services, marine suppliers, waterfront homes and direct Atlantic access.
The city is especially important as an operational and service hub. Marinas and facilities such as Bahia Mar, Lauderdale Marina, Pier Sixty-Six, Las Olas Marina and nearby yards support a wide range of yachts, from smaller motor yachts to large superyachts. Fort Lauderdale is also closely linked with refit, maintenance, provisioning, crew placement and yacht management.
For owners and guests, Fort Lauderdale offers beaches, waterfront dining, luxury hotels, shopping, private aviation access and proximity to the Bahamas. The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is one of the largest and most significant boat shows in the world, reinforcing the city’s role as a global yachting marketplace.
