Portofino is a small but iconic Italian Riviera yacht destination known for its harbour, scenery, luxury hotels and refined coastal atmosphere.

Portofino is one of the most elegant small yacht destinations in the Mediterranean, known for its colourful harbour, Ligurian coastline, luxury hotels, coastal walks and classic Italian Riviera atmosphere. Although compact, it has an outsized reputation in yachting culture because of its beauty, exclusivity and position between Genoa, Santa Margherita Ligure and the Cinque Terre cruising area.

For superyachts, Portofino is primarily a scenic anchorage and tender destination rather than a large marina base. The harbour is picturesque but small, so large yachts usually anchor nearby and use tenders for guest transfers. Shore visits often include the piazzetta, Castello Brown, San Fruttuoso, coastal restaurants and luxury hotels around Portofino and Santa Margherita.

The destination works well as part of an Italian Riviera itinerary, especially for guests seeking refined coastal scenery, quiet glamour and short passages. It is less suited to very large-yacht berthing than destinations such as Monaco, Antibes or Barcelona, but it remains one of the most desirable small stops in the Western Mediterranean.
