Western Sicily cruising archipelago comprising Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo, with clear water, compact passages and an extensive marine protected area.
Favignana is the largest and most developed island, while Levanzo and Marettimo provide smaller-scale ports and anchorages. Large yachts should plan around anchoring and tender operations rather than expecting full-service marina infrastructure at every stop.
Trapani is the practical mainland access point and the closest airport is Trapani Birgi. This allows a yacht to provision and organise guest movements on the Sicilian coast before entering the island group.
The archipelago offers short passages between very different islands, with caves, clear water and small coastal settlements. Favignana combines more shore services with historic tuna-fishing heritage, while Levanzo and Marettimo offer a quieter experience.
This compact layout is well suited to slower itineraries focused on swimming, diving, tender exploration and time ashore. It also connects naturally with Trapani, Marsala and other western Sicily destinations.
The marine protected area is central to voyage planning and current rules must be checked before anchoring or carrying out water activities. Restrictions can vary by zone and activity, so yacht size alone is not a sufficient planning guide.
SYG should treat the Egadi group as one regional destination at this stage rather than creating separate destination pages for every island. None of the islands currently shows evidence of being an independent superyacht Business Hub.
