Alfa Romeo and Anantara Recast the Grand Tour from Rome to Amalfi

Alfa Romeo has become the automotive partner of Anantara’s new Grand Tour of Europe, beginning with a three-day journey linking Rome, Ravello and Amalfi.

The appeal of a Grand Tour lies in everything between the places on the itinerary. Anantara Hotels & Resorts and Alfa Romeo are reviving that idea in September with driving journeys that connect landmark hotels, Italian roads, architecture and the pleasure of arriving without a hurried schedule.

Alfa Romeo is the automotive partner, providing Giulia and Stelvio models, including Quadrifoglio versions, alongside historic cars such as the 1950s Giulietta. The initiative draws on the eighteenth-century European Grand Tour but is arranged for travellers who want a modern, curated road journey.

Rome, the hills and the sea

The first three-day Dolce Vita Tour begins at Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel, then heads into the Castelli Romani hills before continuing south to Ravello. The final approach follows the winding Amalfi Coast to Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel.

That change from capital-city avenues to hillside roads and a coastal arrival is the point of the journey. Each stage offers a different view of Italy, with the hotel stays giving time for dining, culture and a pause from the driving itself.

Performance alongside nostalgia

Contemporary Giulia and Stelvio models bring the cars’ current driving character to the programme, while the vintage Giulietta offers a more nostalgic encounter with the marque. The choice lets the experience move between the technical confidence of a modern car and the slower rhythm of an historic one.

Availability, individual car allocation and any age or licence requirements should be confirmed with the operator before booking. The partnership announcement describes the model line-up but does not promise a particular vehicle on every stage of every tour.

Further into Europe in 2027

The partners plan to extend the concept in 2027, with Alpine routes and a cultural route linking Anantara Palais Hansen Vienna and Anantara New York Palace Budapest. Those future itineraries broaden the focus beyond Italy while keeping the combination of roads and distinctive accommodation.

For travellers arriving from a Mediterranean yacht itinerary, the Amalfi edition offers a natural land-based interlude. It is a way to experience the coast from the other side, with the same towns and viewpoints taking on a different character when approached by road.
