Aman’s original resort has reopened on its Phuket peninsula after a May-to-September closure for enhancements, returning villas, pavilions, dining and wellness to service.
Amanpuri has reopened on Phuket after closing from 15 May to 13 September for a programme of enhancements across the resort. The return matters because Amanpuri is the property where the Aman story began, and its private peninsula remains one of the brand’s clearest expressions of low-density resort design.
The peninsula remains deliberately private
Pavilions are distributed through tropical planting and linked by raised walkways, with terraces looking toward the Andaman Sea or into the gardens. The villas occupy more secluded positions toward the peninsula’s edge and combine private pools with dedicated chefs, making them closer to staffed residences than conventional hotel suites.
Pansea Beach anchors the stay
The white-sand beach and watersports setting continue to give Amanpuri a direct relationship with the sea rather than treating the coastline as a distant view. For yacht owners cruising Phuket and Phang Nga Bay, that makes the resort particularly relevant as an ashore extension of a wider Andaman itinerary.
Dining and wellness return with the reopening
The resort’s dining programme spans Thai, Japanese, Italian and Mediterranean cooking, while its holistic wellness centre combines fitness and restorative facilities. Aman has also reopened the supporting leisure spaces that allow guests to move between beach, pool, spa and restaurants without leaving the peninsula.
A post-reopening offer encourages longer stays
From 15 September to 30 November, Aman is offering a complimentary fifth night on qualifying five-night stays, alongside breakfast and selected resort inclusions. The timing turns the reopening into the start of a new Phuket season rather than a quiet return from annual maintenance.
