Q by Aston Martin Revives Five Historic Colours in One-Off Heritage Cars

Five one-off Aston Martin sports cars revive archived paint colours from the 1960s and 1970s through Q bespoke commissions for Newport Beach.

Colour has always had the power to bring a collector straight back to a particular era. Aston Martin Newport Beach and the marque’s Q bespoke division have created a five-car Heritage Edition collection that revives shades linked to its 1960s and 1970s models.

Each current sports car has its own historic exterior colour and carefully coordinated cabin treatment. The commissions are one-offs, not a change that makes these five colours freely available across the entire catalogue.

A palette with provenance

Pale Primrose returns on a DB12 Volante, taking its inspiration from the classic DB4 period. Pacific Blue gives a DB12 coupé a reference to the original DB6 colour range, while Tudor Green appears on a Vanquish.

The point is to recover the character of an archival colour through present-day paint techniques. The modern vehicles keep their contemporary body shapes and mechanical specifications.

Q develops the details

Q by Aston Martin adds individual interior treatments to complement the exterior finishes. Stitching, surfaces and small bespoke elements help each car feel resolved rather than simply repainted.

That attention matters most when a colour is associated with a particular point in the brand’s history. A coherent car can tell that story without needing a large anniversary graphic on every panel.

Five individual collector pieces

The collection was arranged through Aston Martin Newport Beach and comprises one-of-one commissions. Its scarcity therefore rests on the published individual builds, not on an assumed wider production run.

Buyers comparing these cars with other Q projects should examine the specification and provenance of each example. This Heritage Edition is a separate programme from the 50-car Vanquish 25 and the three VMF-inspired DB12 S commissions.
