Aston Martin’s Valen combines carbon bodywork, an 850PS twin-turbo V12 and motorsport-inspired tuning in a Q-developed run of 150 front-engined cars.
The Aston Martin Valen is defined by more than an elevated power output. The low-volume Q project introduces carbon-fibre bodywork, bespoke lighting and a cabin developed specifically for a 150-car production run.
It is conceived as a more focused expression of the front-engined grand tourer. The manufacturer has worked on weight, gearbox response and chassis tuning as well as appearance.
Power with a particular character
The 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 produces a quoted 850PS and 1,000Nm. Aston Martin cites approximately three seconds to 60mph and a 214mph maximum, both manufacturer performance specifications.
The eight-speed gearbox gains calibration informed by motorsport work on the Vantage GT4. Its faster responses are intended to work with a more immediate and involving chassis setup.
Carbon across the body
Full carbon-fibre panels and lighter options contribute to a stated reduction of up to 110kg over the core V12 platform. Individual vehicle weight will vary with the options ordered.
A dedicated titanium exhaust and new lighting distinguish the car from a conventional trim exercise. Its visual identity is built into the components rather than added through a badge alone.
A place in a collector’s garage
Valen will appeal to owners who want a more intense driving experience than a conventional long-distance GT. Its limited number also creates an easily understood allocation for collectors.
Final specifications, delivery positions and servicing arrangements deserve close examination before purchase. Those practical considerations last longer than the first impression of the headline power figure.
