Bentley has revealed a more off-road-focused Bentayga X Concept at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See.
Bentayga X explores a rougher direction
Bentley has used the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See to reveal the Bentayga X Concept, an experiment in giving the luxury SUV more serious off-road ability. The car starts from a Bentayga Speed but changes its stance, tyres and suspension for rougher terrain.
Track width grows by 120 millimetres and ride height by 55 millimetres, increasing ground clearance and suspension travel. Large-profile tyres and forged 22-inch wheels replace the road-focused setup.
Adventure hardware changes the character
The concept adds roof storage, auxiliary lighting and more than 550 millimetres of wading ability. Bentley has retained the 650 PS twin-turbo V8 and active chassis systems, so the project still sits within the performance side of the Bentayga family.
An electric kart carried on the roof at the event demonstrated how lifestyle equipment can become part of the package. The idea is less about rock crawling than making a luxury SUV more useful for ski resorts, estates and remote destinations.
Feedback may shape a future model
Bentley describes the X as a concept created partly to gather reaction rather than a confirmed production derivative. That gives clients a direct role in deciding whether the brand should move further into the high-end adventure segment.
For owners who already use yachts, private aircraft and country properties, an SUV with more genuine all-terrain ability can fit naturally into the same lifestyle. The concept tests whether Bentley buyers want greater capability without giving up cabin refinement.
