Bentley Takes Supersports and Speed Six onto the Ice in Montana

Bentley brought modern and heritage performance cars to the inaugural FAT Ice Race in Big Sky, Montana, creating a winter driving experience around collector culture.

Big Sky becomes a playground for unusual Bentleys

Bentley used the inaugural FAT Ice Race in Big Sky, Montana, to give the sold-out Supersports its US dynamic debut. Professional driver Lia Block drove the same car used in Bentley’s FULL SEND film, now fitted with studded tyres for the frozen circuit.

The event places valuable cars in an intentionally playful environment rather than presenting them behind ropes. Snow, drifting and informal competition create a very different atmosphere from a concours or traditional dealership launch.

Heritage and concept cars share the ice

A Speed Six Continuation from Mulliner joined the modern Supersports, bringing pre-war design into the same event through a newly built continuation car. The Bentayga X Concept also appeared as an off-road-focused interpretation of Bentley’s SUV.

Putting those cars together demonstrates several forms of collecting at once: new performance, historic recreation and experimental design. The common thread is that each vehicle is intended to be experienced dynamically.

Destination events give collectors a reason to use cars

Private and semi-private driving events are becoming an important part of high-end car ownership because they create experiences around vehicles that may otherwise see limited use. A winter destination adds travel, hospitality and social elements to the driving itself.

That format parallels superyacht regattas and owner rendezvous, where participation matters as much as the asset. FAT Ice Race gives Bentley clients a seasonal reason to move cars, meet other owners and enjoy them in conditions far outside normal road use.
