Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo is linking golf with longevity testing, recovery and environmental stewardship.
Golf becomes part of a wider wellbeing programme
Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo is building a longevity theme around its Ocean Course rather than treating golf as a standalone amenity. Guests can combine time on the course with performance testing, recovery and personalised wellness guidance.
The Arnold Palmer-designed course follows the contours of the peninsula with views across Bahía de Culebra. Long periods outdoors, walking and social connection are being framed as part of a broader approach to healthy ageing.
Conservation is built into the setting
The Ocean Course has received Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status. The recognition covers areas such as water conservation, habitat management, environmental planning and responsible turf practices.
That matters in a destination where the landscape is a major part of the guest experience. Protecting the surrounding ecosystem helps preserve the very qualities that make the course and resort attractive in the first place.
Testing moves wellness beyond the spa
The resort offers PNOĒ VO2 Max testing to assess metabolism, endurance and recovery, followed by individual recommendations covering training, nutrition and recovery. A partnership with performance scientist Dr Andy Galpin adds a more evidence-led dimension.
For yacht owners and frequent travellers, this kind of programme can make a resort stay more useful than simple downtime. The appeal is increasingly about returning home with better information as well as having enjoyed the destination.
