GENESIS turns large-yacht engineering into a sequence of experiences, from helicopter arrival and outdoor cinema to swimming, beach-club evenings and high-speed travel.
At 80.07 metres and around 1,700GT, GENESIS could easily have been defined by scale alone. Instead, Heesen built the yacht around experiences: a certified helicopter deck that becomes an outdoor cinema, a seven-metre pool with contra-jets and waterfall, a crystal elevator and a beach club with a sunken walk-around bar.
Arrival becomes part of the theatre
The helicopter landing area is designed to change function once flying operations are complete, becoming an outdoor cinema. That dual use turns a highly technical deck into a guest space rather than leaving a large area empty between arrivals.
The transformation captures an important large-yacht principle: expensive space should work more than one way. When engineering can disappear after doing its job, guests gain another experience without the yacht feeling cluttered by infrastructure.
The pool is designed for more than cooling off
GENESIS carries a seven-metre pool with contra-jets for swimming, together with a waterfall and glass bottom. It functions as exercise equipment, social centre and visual feature rather than simply a decorative basin on deck.
For guests staying aboard for several weeks, that versatility matters. A proper swim can remain part of a daily fitness routine, while the same pool later becomes a relaxed place for family or friends to gather.
The beach club creates another world at water level
The stern opens into a substantial beach club with a sunken walk-around bar and large transom and side platforms. This gives the yacht a low, informal social zone that contrasts with the more structured decks above.
Moving closer to the water changes the emotional scale of an 80-metre yacht. Guests can swim, board tenders or sit beside the sea without constantly feeling the enormous architecture surrounding them.
Speed expands the possibilities
Four MTU engines give GENESIS a published maximum speed of 29 knots while the yacht retains a 4,000-nautical-mile range at 14 knots. That combination provides unusual flexibility for a vessel of this size.
The lifestyle benefit is simple: distance consumes less of the holiday when the owner wants to move quickly. The yacht can create ambitious itineraries while still offering the resort-like spaces that make days at anchor feel complete.
