Each cake conceals a handcrafted fève by French artist Justine Langlade, turning the familiar ritual of finding the token into a small encounter with decorative art.
The 22 September announcement concerns a pastry for late December 2026 and early January 2027, rather than a dessert currently sold in September. It is distinct from the same hotel's separate Christmas Yule-log release.
A classic filling with a different finish
The cake is made with laminated leavened pastry around an almond frangipane delicately scented with floral notes. A topping of caramelised and roasted pecans adds a richer texture, while the handmade token provides a separate detail for the person who finds it.
The traditional galette is meant to be shared, and the George V's version serves eight people. Guests should take care around the hidden object and confirm ingredients or allergens when ordering for a group.
The collectible token
Langlade has created individual fèves rather than a single interchangeable standard figure, according to the hotel's release. That choice links the experience with the French custom of retaining the tiny object as a memento after the cake has been shared.

Pre-orders open on 15 October 2026, with pickup from 26 December through 3 January 2027 inclusive. The hotel lists the cake at €85, positioning it as a seasonal purchase that needs advance planning rather than a year-round restaurant menu item.
