Ink 48 to Become MGallery's New York Flagship After Renovation

Accor has signed Manhattan's 222-room Ink 48 as MGallery's planned US flagship, with a renovation and rebranding scheduled for 2028.

A Manhattan address enters a new chapter

Accor has signed Ink 48 in New York as the planned United States flagship for its MGallery Collection, with a renovation and formal brand transition scheduled for 2028. The 22 September 2026 announcement concerns a hotel already operating in Hell's Kitchen, not a newly built property or a MGallery opening this autumn.

Overlooking the Hudson River on Manhattan's West Side, the building provides a city stay close to Hudson Yards, Broadway and Times Square. Travellers planning an imminent visit should therefore expect the current independent hotel rather than assume the future MGallery programme has been completed.

The hotel behind the signing

Ink 48 has 222 guestrooms, including 17 suites, and retains an industrial-inspired character that reflects its neighbourhood. The announcement identifies a signature penthouse suite, meeting and event space of approximately 6,000 square feet and a fitness centre within the existing offer.

The culinary programme includes the ground-floor Hudson Local restaurant and rooftop Hudson VU bar with skyline views. These facilities make the property relevant to guests who prefer to spend an evening in the hotel after exploring the city.

Renovation without losing the identity

Accor says planned improvements will introduce MGallery's design and service elements while preserving the individual character that made Ink 48 a recognised Manhattan address. Rebel Hotel Company is identified as the future operating partner, with Capstone Equities and Leyad involved in the property partnership.

The hotel is expected to continue operating independently during the transition. Exact renovation phasing, room availability and service interruptions will need to be checked directly before a reservation, particularly when travel depends on a particular suite or event area.

Why the dates matter

The 2028 reopening under the collection's name is a forward-looking plan rather than a verified present-day brand status. For yacht owners combining a Northeast US programme with time in New York, the signing offers a future accommodation option, but does not create a marina or dedicated waterside access point.

Accor's primary release provides the hotel count, partnership structure and scheduled timetable. The accompanying property photograph documents the existing Ink 48 rather than representing a finished 2028 redesign.
