The 54-metre Mangusta GranSport offers two very different ways to be near the water: a beach club opened across the stern and a foredeck infinity pool above the owner’s accommodation. Overmarine’s official design materials connect these guest spaces with a fast-displacement hull conceived for long-distance passages.
A beach club made from three openings
At the after end, a central door and two side hatches open to create a broad waterside space, with terraces and areas for relaxation. The arrangement turns a closed part of the yacht into another guest destination when the crew prepares it for use.
Its individual structures require proper operating procedures and suitable conditions. This is a specific GranSport 54 design solution, not a generic assumption that every Mangusta has identical stern geometry.
Light reaches the owner’s deck below
The builder’s model brochure describes an infinity pool on the foredeck with a glass floor that admits natural light into the owner’s suite below. That architectural link gives a working yacht amenity two functions rather than hiding the pool within a single isolated deck.
The broad glazed areas elsewhere also connect main interior rooms to the surrounding view. Final decorative finishes and some layouts are personalised, so the model image should not be mistaken for a photographic record of every individual hull.
Speed and distance together
Mangusta positions its GranSport range between fast open-yacht performance and the range required for ocean passages. The official fleet history records that the first 54-metre EL LEON completed a world voyage, confirming the model’s long-distance ambitions in practice.
The builder also launched a fifth GranSport 54 in June 2026 at Pisa, but this article is not a second account of that launch or the delivery of BETSY. Those milestones are separate from the architectural features being discussed here.
A contemporary owner brief
The yard credits Alberto Mancini and its engineering group with the exterior concept, with custom interiors shaped to individual client requirements. Its mixture of wide decks, pool, sheltered rooms and large windows supports a variety of time aboard.
The hero is Mangusta’s official GranSport 54 image and is not a photograph falsely identified as BETSY or the fifth hull at her launch. It is a distinct model illustration used for this design feature.
