The 90-metre PHOENIX² brings a particular cultural era to life through Winch Design’s interpretation of 1930s New York. Its Art Deco references appear in furnishings and fabrics, while the yacht’s sky lounge and outdoor cinema make the theme part of a living environment rather than simply a decorative display.
More than a period-inspired room
The same studio developed the exterior and interior, joining the yacht’s streamlined profile with an imaginative selection of furniture and textiles. More than one hundred metres of polished stainless-steel handrails provide another distinctive detail in the builder’s official description.
The yacht was delivered in 2010, so these are documented design features rather than a newly unveiled refit or public preview. The interest lies in how an owner’s aesthetic brief is carried through a complete yacht.
Dining with the view
The sky lounge opens into an indoor-outdoor dining area with glass screens, allowing guests to retain a view while managing different weather conditions. This is an example of a room that can change its relationship to the open deck without becoming an unrelated space.
