The planned first Raffles Alpine resort will bring 50 rooms and suites, mountain-facing balconies and destination dining to Courchevel’s Jardin Alpin.
Courchevel’s high-altitude hotel scene is set to welcome a new name, although not immediately. Raffles has outlined its first Alpine resort for the Jardin Alpin area, with 50 rooms and suites and a target opening in winter 2028.
The scheme is being developed with Art de Vivre, with architecture from JMV and interiors by Humbert & Poyet. Its restrained scale gives it a different character from a large destination hotel.
Position within Jardin Alpin
The setting looks across the Tarentaise Valley, with private balconies planned for many rooms. Views and access are especially important in a mountain hotel, where the daily route from breakfast to the slopes influences the whole stay.
The project intends to balance a strong local setting with Raffles’ international hospitality identity. Final room specifications remain subject to development before the first guests arrive.
Restaurants and winter gardens
Two destination restaurants, a signature bar and a tea lounge feature in the plans. Winter gardens and terraces would give guests places to enjoy the scenery without spending the whole day skiing.
These are announced facilities rather than operating venues today. Reservation arrangements and final opening details should be confirmed when the resort reaches its launch phase.
Another base for the winter season
For owners who spend summer aboard and winter in the Alps, an intimate hotel can be an alternative to maintaining a chalet year-round. The intended combination of accommodation, dining and service may suit short or extended stays.
The current date is a development target, not a guarantee of completion. Travellers planning a specific winter holiday should wait for confirmed operating dates.
