The 74Steel platform uses a large dedicated owner’s level and an expansive sea-level resort to connect privacy with onboard social life.
The Sanlorenzo 74Steel offers two deliberately different environments aboard the same yacht: a dedicated owner’s deck and a large sea-level resort. The builder describes approximately 300 square metres set aside for the owner, with a panoramic terrace, while the lower leisure area can expand towards the water.
A deck reserved for the owner
Sanlorenzo’s official platform account places the principal suite, private terrace and associated rooms together across an approximately 300-square-metre level. This gives the owner a more continuous private environment than a conventional suite inserted beside shared guest accommodation.
On a longer cruise, the arrangement allows some members of the party to gather without requiring the principal guest to use the public saloon. The exact furnishings remain hull-specific and can vary between owner commissions.
A resort close to the sea
The builder describes the beach club as expandable to almost 290 square metres at water level. Its design aims to bring daylight into the lower part of the vessel and reduce the separation between an interior lounge and the anchorage.
A large opening platform is still a working yacht structure that needs supervised preparation and calm conditions. What matters to the guest experience is the relationship among shade, seating and access to the water, not a claim that the space can always be opened.
Engineering underneath the space
The first 74Steel uses a diesel-electric system developed with Siemens Energy, giving designers another way to arrange machinery and support quiet operation. The platform can also be customised extensively without requiring each yacht to share identical decorative arrangements.
The second hull, Virtuosity, demonstrates this variation through its own tree, aquarium and glass-bottom pool; those are specific to that commission. They should not be presented as standard features of the first 74Steel or used to identify the model photograph.
A coherent project across design teams
Zuccon International Project developed the exterior, while Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini are credited on the first hull’s interiors. The platform’s broad dimensions provide room for both a private level and generous guest zones.
The hero is Sanlorenzo’s official 74Steel model photograph, rather than a mislabelled photo of Virtuosity’s interior. This design feature is separate from SYG’s earlier reporting of the individual hulls and does not invent another launch.
