Belmond's 2026 showing in The World's 50 Best Hotels spans city landmarks, coastal retreats and destinations closely connected with their surroundings. Six properties feature across the full selection, giving travellers an opportunity to compare very different kinds of stays under the same hotel collection.
Three properties in the main 50
Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, Mount Nelson in Cape Town and Maroma on the Riviera Maya occupy places in the main list. Each is closely tied to its own location, from a historic seafront address to an intimate tropical retreat.
The wider selection crosses continents
Hotel das Cataratas in Brazil, Splendido in Portofino and Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco complete the six-property selection. Their settings are diverse enough to illustrate why a hotel collection need not rely on a standardised experience from one destination to the next.
