BMW’s six-day International GS Trophy in Romania concluded after mountain and forest stages, with men’s and women’s team results decided.
An expedition through the Carpathians
The tenth BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy has concluded after six days of competition in Romania. BMW reports a route of about 1,500 kilometres across mountain terrain, tracks and changing surfaces.
For yacht guests seeking an active land excursion, the event provides an example of motorcycle expedition culture. It should not be confused with a guided leisure trip that anyone can join without preparation.
A final challenge for the standings
BMW reports that Team Germany secured the men’s competition with 203 points and Team Europe won the women’s contest with 200. The results were determined through a sequence of riding and team tasks.
Those scores belong to the 2026 event and should not be treated as a prediction of later competitions. Conditions and tasks are set by the organisers for each edition.
Why the route is demanding
Forest sections and changes in altitude create a different test from smooth-road touring. Teamwork and decision-making are important when riders cover remote sections over consecutive days.
Participants require experience and suitable protective equipment to take on organised adventure competition. A publicity photograph is not an instruction to tackle unfamiliar terrain independently.
An inland travel inspiration
Romania’s Carpathians offer a contrasting journey for visitors more accustomed to Mediterranean shores. The GS Trophy illustrates a way to explore a landscape where navigation and terrain remain central.
BMW Motorrad’s original report and route-specific images establish the results and context. Any separate motorcycle holiday should be planned through an appropriate operator.
