34m Sanlorenzo Christina Sold With Northrop & Johnson Representing Buyer
Northrop & Johnson has announced the sale of the 34-metre Sanlorenzo SD112 Christina, with broker Ed Dickinson representing the buyer.
The 2018 Ferretti 850 ALTER EGO has been sold, with OneWater Yacht Group introducing the buyer and Autograph Yacht Group representing the seller.
The 26.18-metre Ferretti motor yacht ALTER EGO has been sold, according to an industry report published on 19 October. SuperYacht Times identifies Ed Grimpe of OneWater Yacht Group as the broker introducing the buyer and Gary Hardcastle of Autograph Yacht Group as representing the seller. The report names the parties involved in the brokerage transaction but does not disclose the final sale consideration.
ALTER EGO was delivered by Ferretti Yachts in 2018 and previously sailed under the name LA MARTINA. The sale closes a period in which the vessel was advertised through brokerage listings in South Florida. Older marketing pages may remain accessible after a yacht changes hands, so their continued presence should not be interpreted as evidence that the transaction has been reversed.
The yacht belongs to the Ferretti 850 family, a GRP motor-yacht design with external and internal styling by Zuccon International Project and naval architecture by Ferretti. The model places a panoramic saloon on the main deck, guest accommodation below and a broad flybridge above. Its layout is intended to support both owner-operated leisure and voyages with professional crew.
A vessel in the mid-20-metre range offers meaningful separation between social areas, bedrooms and technical compartments, but its operation still involves the normal responsibilities of a substantial motor yacht. Mooring arrangements, crew requirements and navigation limits depend on the vessel's registration and intended use. General model descriptions cannot establish those conditions for an individual yacht.
The report describes accommodation for up to nine guests across four cabins, with crew quarters accommodating three. The original seller's brokerage listing describes four guest staterooms and additional crew accommodation, although advertised capacities vary between sources. That difference is a reminder that a yacht's approved accommodation should be established from its actual drawings and certification rather than summaries alone.
The interior arrangement includes a full-beam owner's cabin amidships and further ensuite guest cabins. Panoramic windows in the main saloon bring light into the entertaining space, while a separate forward galley can help limit traffic through guest areas. Buyers considering similar yachts should examine circulation routes and the practicality of serving meals when every cabin is occupied.
ALTER EGO is reported to have twin MAN propulsion, with a cruising speed around 27 knots and a published maximum close to 32 knots. The former brokerage specification identifies MAN V12 engines rated at 1,900 horsepower each. The vessel's performance profile is therefore closer to a fast planing motor yacht than a long-range displacement explorer.
Speed figures vary with loading, sea conditions, engine condition and the accuracy of instruments. A sale report is not a technical certificate of achieved performance on the handover date. Purchasers of comparable yachts should request machinery records, check engine hours and verify cooling, drivetrain and vibration behaviour during a professionally observed sea trial.
Autograph's yacht listing highlights zero-speed fin stabilisers, twin generators and a hydraulic swim-platform arrangement. The inventory also mentions a watermaker, bow and stern thrusters and an onboard connectivity package including Starlink. These systems can add considerable convenience for coastal and offshore use, particularly when the yacht spends extended periods at anchor.
Each additional system creates inspection and maintenance obligations. Stabilisers need mechanical and hydraulic checks, generators require servicing and connectivity equipment may be subject to changing subscriptions and hardware revisions. The relevant question for a buyer is not merely whether an item appears on a sales brochure, but whether it remains fully operational and documented at transfer.
A flybridge with covered helm, wet bar and lounge areas is among the model's principal recreational spaces. The aft deck supports outdoor dining, while the swim platform and tender garage provide access to the water. These arrangements help explain why the Ferretti 850 remains a recognisable type of Mediterranean and Florida cruising yacht for families and groups.
Practical deck use depends on weather protection, safe access and the ability of the crew to operate tenders and water toys without interfering with guests. A hydraulic platform must be assessed for operating limits and maintenance history. The attractiveness of a large outdoor lounge does not remove the need for clear working areas during arrival, departure and anchoring.
At the time the sale was reported, the last known asking price was approximately $3.195 million. That figure is not the disclosed transaction price and should not be used to calculate a realised discount or profit. A brokerage advertisement indicates the seller's market position at a particular time, not what the parties eventually agreed behind closed doors.
The price of an individual pre-owned yacht can be influenced by machinery condition, service records, equipment, inventory, urgency and local market conditions. Similar models often differ substantially after a few years of ownership and upgrades. Without the sale contract or a verified closing disclosure, comparisons should remain focused on advertised figures and publicly confirmed details.
The important development in the October report is the transfer through a brokerage transaction involving representatives on both sides. It adds a further Ferretti 850 to the year's known used-yacht sales activity, although one sale does not by itself establish a wider trend for the 24-to-30-metre category. The named brokers are useful for confirming the participants in the transaction. Owners assessing reported yacht sales should distinguish a closing announcement from a lingering advertising record, particularly where listing platforms take time to update their inventories.
For prospective owners studying the 850 family, ALTER EGO's published specification remains a reference point for the layout, systems and performance available in this size. Any market valuation or purchase decision should be based on a currently available vessel and independent examination. In this case, the published update is a reported sale, and the final financial terms remain undisclosed.
