The 27.75m OTAM 90 GTS SEXY ME has sold through an in-house SuperYachtsMonaco brokerage transaction.

SEXY ME represents the fast end of the smaller superyacht market

The 27.75-metre OTAM 90 GTS SEXY ME has been sold through SuperYachtsMonaco, with Steen Christensen acting for the buyer and Alex Banning for the seller. The transaction was handled in-house, and the final consideration remains private. The yacht was last reported with an asking price of €6.95 million, which should not be repeated as the achieved sale price.

Delivered in 2024, this is a comparatively recent yacht whose appeal differs from that of a traditional displacement vessel. Owners looking at this category are often comparing acceleration, fast coastal cruising and a distinctive profile as much as interior volume or maximum passage range.

The propulsion system is fundamental to the product

The yacht is powered by twin MTU engines connected to surface-drive propulsion, with published figures of approximately 36 knots at cruise and 42 knots maximum speed. Surface drives are associated with the design brief for high-performance motor yachts, but they also place specific requirements on maintenance, handling and matching engines with hull geometry.

These are advertised performance figures, not a guarantee of speed in all sea states or loading conditions. Fuel use, ride comfort and operating range may vary substantially when a yacht travels consistently above thirty knots, and an experienced captain must adapt operation to the prevailing conditions.

Design details distinguish the OTAM 90 GTS

Exterior and interior styling are by BG Design Firm, with naval architecture developed with Umberto Tagliavini. The yacht's metallic silver finish reinforces the dynamic lines of her composite hull, producing a markedly different appearance from large steel-and-aluminium expedition yachts.

That styling cannot be separated from the interior brief. High performance usually involves careful management of weight and available volume, so designers have to allocate space for fuel, machinery, structural systems and guest accommodation without compromising the intended handling characteristics.

Accommodation is intended for a compact guest group

SEXY ME provides three guest cabins: a master suite, a VIP suite and a twin cabin, accommodating six guests. A separate crew area supports four people. The layout is suited to an owner who prefers a smaller private party and rapid movements between cruising locations rather than maximising the number of guest cabins.

Natural stone, timber finishes and individually detailed furniture help create a luxury interior within this smaller footprint. On deck, guests can use outdoor lounging spaces and reach the water from the aft arrangements, fitting the coastal-use profile of the yacht.

The completed sale is more informative than a new launch announcement

For a nearly new performance yacht, brokerage buyers can compare an existing vessel that is available for inspection with the design choices, build time and cost of commissioning a fresh project. The importance of survey records and specialist engine service remains considerable despite the yacht's recent delivery.

SEXY ME's 27.75-metre overall length falls within the superyacht category used by SYG, although other regulatory measurements may be shorter. The sale confirms a change of owner without revealing future cruising plans, refit programmes or the private terms of the transaction.
