40m Sunseeker SEA RAIDER V Listed by Burgess for $9.75m
Burgess has announced the 40-metre Sunseeker SEA RAIDER V for sale at US$9.75 million, with a five-cabin layout and a planned appearance at Fort …
The Sanlorenzo SL86 motor yacht SQUALO has joined IYC's global sales fleet, with extensive factory upgrades and accommodation arranged for eight guests.
Brokerage company IYC has added SQUALO, a 27-metre Sanlorenzo SL86 motor yacht, to its international sales fleet. The announcement of 12 October describes the vessel as an Americas Edition with numerous custom features and names California managing partner Matthew Stone as the contact for interested purchasers.
The announcement establishes a listing rather than a completed transaction or an independently assessed value. Buyers considering a yacht in this class should obtain the current asking terms, equipment schedule and survey opportunities directly from the brokerage.
IYC says that more than US$660,000 was invested in factory upgrades and personalisation when the vessel was configured. These extras are part of the yacht's particular character and may distinguish her from other SL86 boats available on the market.
The historical value of fitted options should not be treated as a direct addition to the yacht's current resale price. Machinery condition, service documentation and the future availability of replacement components need to be evaluated alongside the original purchase specification.
The yacht's accommodation includes four guest cabins, with a full-beam owner's stateroom and light-filled living spaces. Officina Italiana Design is credited with the model's styling, while Marty Lowe Design produced the interior approach described by the brokerage.
Families may find a four-cabin layout more practical for longer periods aboard than a vessel with fewer private sleeping areas. During a viewing, passengers should evaluate wardrobes, steps, private bathrooms and the division between crew working areas and guest circulation.
SQUALO is advertised with a large bow lounge that can be reconfigured into a sunbathing area. An electro-hydraulic bathing platform at the stern provides another setting for enjoying the sea when the yacht is securely anchored in suitable conditions.
The movement of deck furniture and the swimming platform should be demonstrated rather than accepted solely from photographs. Its maintenance history and operating limits form part of the technical assessment a buyer should request.
The listed configuration includes zero-speed stabilisers and hydraulic bow and stern thrusters intended to improve comfort at rest and handling in marinas. Tropical-rated air conditioning and a Sea Recovery watermaker advertised at 1,800 US gallons per day are also part of the equipment package.
The actual performance of these systems depends on installation, age and maintenance. A rating quoted for a watermaker or air-conditioning plant is not proof of its output during a survey, making functional testing an essential step.
IYC refers to RINA and CE certification and describes the boat as charter-ready. Owners who plan to earn income from the yacht should nevertheless check the regulatory documents, flag status, manning rules and insurance relevant to their intended area of operation.
Different jurisdictions apply different requirements to private and commercial use, especially where a vessel is moving between countries. A broker's general description cannot replace a tailored compliance review before the yacht starts charter activity.
SQUALO offers the possibility of acquiring a personalised example of a widely recognised Sanlorenzo model without commissioning a new build. At the same time, additional equipment can create greater servicing demands, making an annual maintenance budget particularly important.
A potential buyer should request a complete list of options, maintenance records and a representative sea trial. The final decision should rest on documented condition and the owner's intended programme rather than the original cost of the custom extras.
