The 32.6m Maiora BALANDRAU has sold in a transaction involving World Yacht Group for the buyer and Viudes Yachts for the seller.
The sale of the 32.6-metre motor yacht BALANDRAU brings a relatively compact Italian superyacht with a long record of updates into new ownership. World Yacht Group represented the purchaser and Viudes Yachts the seller. The yacht was delivered in 2009 as part of the Maiora 31DP series, and her most recent advertised price was €2.35 million including VAT; neither brokerage has disclosed the amount actually paid.
For a yacht that is now 17 years old, the transaction is as much about machinery records and ongoing upkeep as exterior styling. The available information points to a sequence of work carried out over more than a decade, rather than a single recent reconstruction. That distinction matters to buyers assessing the remaining service life of systems on a used yacht.
Among the most significant reported changes were the installation of RAC zero-speed stabilisers in 2013 and a complete repaint of the exterior in 2022. The navigation and CCTV equipment was updated during 2021, Starlink connectivity was added in 2023, and the generators underwent overhaul work in 2023 and 2024. Each addresses a different part of the yacht's operation: comfort at anchor, hull presentation, bridge awareness, communication and hotel-power reliability.
RINA class certification was renewed in 2025. That is a useful documented milestone, but it should not be interpreted as a blanket guarantee about every item onboard. A pre-purchase inspection would still need to review the scope of surveys, main-engine service history, stabiliser condition, machinery hours and the work undertaken since the last renewal.
BALANDRAU was built in fibreglass, with exterior styling by Roberto Del Re and naval architecture and interiors developed by Maiora. She is arranged for eight guests in four cabins: a master suite, a VIP and two twins. Four crew members have separate accommodation, allowing the owner to run the yacht as a professionally operated private vessel.
Twin MTU main engines give the yacht a published cruising speed of approximately 23 knots and a maximum of 26 knots. These are substantial speeds for a yacht of 32.6 metres, placing importance on fuel consumption, engine servicing and passage planning when compared with a slower displacement yacht. Published speeds describe the specification and do not necessarily indicate performance under every loading or sea condition.
Two bimini tops shade sections of the flybridge, creating a practical area for meals outside during Mediterranean cruising. At the stern, guests can move from the main aft deck down to the swim platform without passing through an enclosed interior lounge. The arrangement supports the day-anchorage, swimming and short-passage pattern common to fast motor yachts of this size.
The sale closes a brokerage process, not a refit contract or a new production order. The most consequential follow-up will be the new owner's use of the vessel and any work commissioned after delivery; neither has yet been announced. The available material therefore supports a definite change of ownership and a clear specification, but not assumptions about the buyer's identity or future cruising itinerary.
