Y.CO is offering the 40.05m custom Mangusta 132 FIREFLY at $10.95 million, bringing a 37-knot yacht with a helicopter-capable foredeck to market.
Y.CO has added FIREFLY, a 40.05-metre custom Mangusta 132, to its sales fleet with an asking price of $10.95 million. Built in 2017 as one of only two custom examples of the Mangusta 132 series, the yacht combines a 37-knot maximum speed with a 1.75-metre draft, five guest cabins and a foredeck capable of touch-and-go helicopter operations.
FIREFLY sits outside the conventional specification of a standard production-series yacht. Y.CO describes her as one of only two custom-built Mangusta 132s delivered, with the platform adapted around an owner programme that prioritises speed, watersports and access to destinations where a deeper-draft yacht would be more restricted.
At 40.05 metres and 288 GT, the yacht remains relatively compact for the amount of equipment carried aboard. The shallow 1.75-metre draft expands access to bays and beaches, while the combination of custom deck arrangements and high-speed propulsion gives the yacht a markedly different use profile from a conventional displacement yacht of similar length. That combination matters commercially because many fast yachts sacrifice either guest volume or access to shallow cruising grounds in exchange for performance. FIREFLY instead uses customisation to preserve multiple operating options within a relatively compact 40-metre platform.
Power comes from three MTU engines, giving FIREFLY a maximum speed of 37 knots. That performance preserves the fast-cruising character associated with the Mangusta brand while allowing an owner to reposition quickly between islands, cruising grounds or anchorages during shorter itineraries.
Y.CO also highlights twin gyrostabilisers for comfort at anchor and underway. The systems package therefore pairs high-speed capability with equipment intended to make the yacht practical once stopped, rather than treating performance as the only defining feature of the design. Triple-engine installations bring additional machinery and maintenance considerations, but they also support the performance envelope that defines the yacht. Buyers considering FIREFLY will therefore be assessing a specialised propulsion package rather than a conventional twin-engine displacement configuration.
One of FIREFLY’s most unusual features is the touch-and-go helipad incorporated into the foredeck, which Y.CO says is capable of accommodating an EC135. The arrangement does not turn the yacht into a dedicated helicopter-support vessel, but it adds another transfer option for suitable operating programmes and locations.
The yacht is also heavily configured for watersports. Custom inflatable docks, generous toy storage and equipment for kiting, surfing and foiling are designed to turn the swim platform and surrounding water into a working activity zone, reinforcing the adventure-led positioning of the yacht. For an owner moving between remote anchorages, islands and watersports locations, that transfer flexibility can complement the yacht’s shallow draft and speed. It also explains why the foredeck has been treated as an operational space rather than simply another sunbathing area.
Guest accommodation is arranged for up to 12 people across five cabins. The full-beam principal suite includes a private office and walk-in dressing room, while two double cabins, a convertible cabin and a dedicated bunk cabin create flexibility for families and mixed guest groups.
A convertible wellness area adds another adaptable interior space, while the AV and entertainment system extends across both interior and exterior areas. Together with the current maintenance condition highlighted by Y.CO, the specification positions FIREFLY as a ready-to-use high-performance yacht rather than a brokerage project requiring an immediate major refit. The dedicated children’s bunk cabin is particularly unusual in a yacht of this style because it signals a strong family-use brief. It allows the principal guest cabins to remain adult-oriented while still providing a practical solution for younger guests on longer cruising programmes.
