Burgess has announced the 40-metre Sunseeker SEA RAIDER V for sale at US$9.75 million, with a five-cabin layout and a planned appearance at Fort Lauderdale.

A Sunseeker 131 returns to the spotlight

Brokerage firm Burgess has announced the 40-metre motor yacht SEA RAIDER V for sale with a public asking price of US$9.75 million. The vessel was delivered by British shipyard Sunseeker in 2013 and has been used privately by the same owner since new, according to the 21 October announcement.

The listing is a marketing announcement rather than a completed transaction or an independent valuation of the boat. Potential purchasers should establish the current condition and equipment inventory through direct enquiries and technical inspection.

Gross tonnage and internal volume

The Sunseeker 131 platform has a recognisable raised superstructure and multiple decks dedicated to guest accommodation and entertaining. Burgess lists SEA RAIDER V at approximately 338 gross tonnes, a measure of enclosed volume rather than the displacement weight of the hull.

Comparing gross tonnage can help buyers understand why yachts of a similar length may feel different inside. The useful assessment is how the actual vessel divides space between cabins, social rooms, technical equipment and working areas for its professional crew.

Five cabins accommodate up to twelve

Burgess describes an arrangement for up to twelve guests in five private cabins, including a full-beam master's suite with wide windows. Further guest accommodation is designed to support family groups and visitors travelling together during a Mediterranean or Caribbean holiday.

The advertised guest count does not identify every person's sleeping preferences or establish the suitability of an individual cabin. An interested owner should inspect the current floor plan, private bathrooms and arrangement of crew circulation.

Outdoor areas for meals and relaxation

An extensive sundeck includes a Jacuzzi, bar and several lounging areas that can be enjoyed while the yacht is at anchor. Additional exterior decks offer dining and gathering spaces, giving guests alternatives to spending the entire day in the main saloon.

Facilities exposed to sea air need routine inspection and maintenance, particularly where moving covers, water pumps and outdoor furniture are involved. A detailed viewing should establish the degree of shade, safe deck access and current condition of equipment.

Performance with twin MTU engines

The yacht has twin MTU 12V 4000 M93 diesel engines rated at 3,181 horsepower apiece. Burgess reports a maximum speed reaching twenty-two knots and an ordinary cruising speed around fifteen knots, placing the Sunseeker among relatively fast large motor yachts.

These values should be read as advertised performance figures rather than guaranteed speeds with every passenger load and sea state. A buyer should review machinery servicing, engine hours and measured fuel consumption for the actual vessel.

Fort Lauderdale provides a viewing opportunity

SEA RAIDER V is scheduled to be shown at the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, opening on 28 October and running until 1 November. The event is relevant because buyers can examine a vessel in person and discuss technical and commercial questions with a representative.

Showing a yacht at an exhibition does not guarantee immediate access to every visitor. Prospective purchasers should confirm the specific display location and arrange a boarding appointment before relying on the published schedule.

Single-owner history still calls for surveys

The brokerage emphasises that the yacht has remained in private ownership since her 2013 delivery and describes careful upkeep. That is useful context but does not establish that every component has been replaced or that future maintenance will be inexpensive.

An acquisition requires independent condition surveys, verification of included equipment and a realistic annual operating budget. Crew costs, insurance, berth charges and major servicing remain significant considerations beyond the advertised purchase price.
