The 42m Feadship SYNTHESIS 66 has joined IYC brokerage with a 2022 multimillion-euro refit, five guest cabins and a published 2,200nm cruising range.

A classic Feadship joins the international sales market

IYC has added the 42-metre Feadship SYNTHESIS 66 to its sales fleet, appointing Monaco managing partner Kevin Bonnie as the representative. The yacht belongs to the Dutch builder's established heritage fleet, where the appeal rests on engineering and design characteristics that remain attractive years after delivery. IYC has not disclosed an asking price in the announcement, making any proposed valuation premature.

The yacht's exterior is attributed to De Voogt, a name closely associated with Feadship's naval architecture and design history. A significant refit programme completed in 2022 has altered the experience aboard while retaining the original vessel's character. That combination deserves a careful inspection because the technical age of a yacht and the age of its refurbished spaces need not be the same.

Boutsen Monaco gave the interior a new presentation

IYC identifies Boutsen Monaco as the designer behind the refreshed interior, with the 2022 programme described as a multimillion-euro undertaking. The yacht accommodates twelve guests in five cabins, allowing family or mixed-group charters and private trips. Extensive exterior areas provide room for dining and entertaining without requiring everyone aboard to share one main lounge.

The number of guest berths should be read alongside the actual cabin plan: two yachts that accommodate twelve may offer very different arrangements of doubles, twins and supplementary berths. A prospective owner ought to inspect the physical configuration and determine whether the yacht will be used privately or commercially, as the practical demands and documentation differ.

Classification and operating documents are part of the proposition

The broker describes SYNTHESIS 66 as Lloyd's-classed, MCA-compliant and EU VAT paid. These statements are relevant for a buyer evaluating international use, but they must be supported by up-to-date certificates and transaction-specific advice. VAT status in particular should be reviewed against the yacht's title, history and the intended ownership structure rather than taken as a guarantee about every possible future transfer.

IYC gives a cruising range of around 2,200 nautical miles, placing the yacht firmly in the extended-cruising market when operated within the conditions behind that figure. The 2022 refit also included a generator top-end rebuild and broader upgrades, providing defined points for a surveyor to verify through invoices, engine records and commissioning reports.

Heritage and current condition need to be assessed together

A well-maintained Feadship of this size may provide substantial owner enjoyment without the long construction lead time of a new custom yacht. That attraction comes with responsibilities: mechanical systems, electrical distribution, paintwork and class compliance must all be reviewed in the present condition, even when the photographs show newly finished accommodation.

The arrival of SYNTHESIS 66 on IYC's books is a brokerage event rather than evidence of a change in classification or a newly completed refit this month. The verified elements include the historic design credit, 2022 work, guest capacity and quoted range. The final purchase decision should depend on survey findings and legal documentation as well as the yacht's appearance.
