The 44-metre Fitzroy sailing yacht MES AMIS is offered through Cecil Wright at €15.95 million after a comprehensive 2026 refit.

The 44-metre Fitzroy sailing yacht MES AMIS is currently offered for sale through Cecil Wright at €15.95 million following a comprehensive 2026 refit. The work covered sails, rigging, teak, paint, generators, the main engine, electrical systems, AV/IT and a renewed interior, positioning the Dubois-designed sloop for a new period of racing and cruising.

A 2026 refit refreshes the brokerage proposition

Cecil Wright’s current listing presents MES AMIS as a 2007/2026 yacht and places the asking price at €15.95 million. The refit programme is unusually broad for a brokerage update, extending from new sails and rigging to teak, paint, generators, main-engine overhaul and substantial electrical work.

The interior was also renewed, with AV and IT systems updated as part of the programme. Cecil Wright notes that new interior photography will be produced in due course and that the current listing photography predates the refit, an important distinction for buyers assessing the yacht remotely.

Dubois design combines cruising with regatta capability

MES AMIS was delivered by Fitzroy Yachts in 2007, originally as SALPERTON, with naval architecture and exterior design by Dubois Naval Architects. The yacht has established racing credentials and has competed on the superyacht regatta circuit while retaining the accommodation and deck spaces needed for extended private cruising.

Her sailing configuration includes a fixed keel drawing 4.8 metres and a performance daggerboard that extends to 6.9 metres. That arrangement is intended to balance upwind performance with access to anchorages that would be unavailable to a yacht carrying the full deeper draft at all times.

Four cabins accommodate ten guests

The current sales specification accommodates ten guests in four cabins, including a full-beam master suite. Adam Lay Studio is credited with the interior, where oak and walnut joinery, restrained colours and custom furniture create a warmer residential character than the stripped-back aesthetic of a pure racing yacht.

A large cockpit leads through the saloon to a lowered dining area, supporting both social use at anchor and practical circulation while sailing. A transom platform provides direct access to the water and also serves as the principal boarding area when the yacht is at rest.

Recent technical investment reduces immediate refit exposure

For a buyer considering a 19-year-old performance sailing yacht, the scale of the 2026 works is central to the current proposition. Major rigging, propulsion, electrical, generator, deck and paint expenditure can materially affect the first years of ownership, although the scope and condition still need to be independently verified during survey.

The €15.95 million asking price therefore needs to be assessed against both the yacht’s Fitzroy and Dubois pedigree and the documented quality of the latest refit. MES AMIS remains a specialist proposition for an owner who wants serious sailing performance without giving up guest comfort or the ability to cruise extensively.
