The 54.9-metre Heesen motor yacht LAURENTIA has had her public asking price reduced from €45 million to €36.5 million, according to the updated Edmiston listing and an October 21 brokerage report.

A significant price adjustment on a 55-metre Heesen

The 54.9-metre Heesen motor yacht LAURENTIA is now being offered by Edmiston at €36.5 million, excluding VAT. The updated figure represents a reduction of €8.5 million from the previously advertised €45 million asking price and was noted in an October 21 brokerage report.

The change concerns an asking price, not a completed sale. Even a major adjustment does not establish the amount a buyer might eventually agree, and prospective purchasers must still assess the yacht's condition, equipment and market comparables before negotiating.

A fast-displacement yacht delivered in 2017

LAURENTIA was built by Dutch shipyard Heesen in 2017 on its steel-hulled 55-metre platform, pairing a substantial internal volume with a fast-displacement design. Omega Architects styled the exterior, while the yacht's engineering includes hull-development work associated with Van Oossanen.

The broker's details give an overall length of 54.86 metres, beam of about 9.6 metres and gross tonnage in the 740 GT class. Prospective buyers should check the certified tonnage and survey documents because secondary listings sometimes quote different values for the same vessel.

Accommodation for twelve guests

The current brokerage listing describes six guest cabins arranged for up to twelve passengers, together with accommodation for a professional crew of fourteen. That combination offers a typical large-yacht division between private guest accommodation and working spaces for those maintaining and operating the vessel.

The yacht has a full-beam owner's suite and a further full-width VIP suite, according to the wider published specification. A buyer should request current photographs and a cabin plan rather than assume furnishings and equipment are unchanged from initial delivery.

Extended range is part of the design

Twin MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines provide propulsion, with published figures of around thirteen knots for economical cruising and a maximum speed near sixteen knots. The builder and listing sources describe a range of approximately 4,500 nautical miles at thirteen knots under appropriate conditions.

These figures are not a guarantee for a full-load passage in rough seas. Machinery condition, hotel loads, reserve policy and the chosen speed all influence the actual endurance, so any purchaser planning long-distance use needs measured consumption and up-to-date maintenance records.

Guest areas blend indoor and outdoor living

LAURENTIA includes large guest lounges and dining areas alongside substantial open decks, with a sun deck and Jacuzzi among the advertised amenities. The combination suits owners who want to spend extended time aboard while retaining outdoor gathering places for family and visitors.

A brokerage tour should extend beyond the most photogenic spaces. The tender arrangements, technical stores, crew circulation and machinery access are equally important to understanding the yacht's practical capabilities and the cost of keeping her in service.

A price reduction does not remove due diligence

The publicly advertised change puts LAURENTIA in a different asking-price bracket, but it does not establish her independent value. Age, refit history, maintenance records, compliance status and any significant upcoming technical work may affect the appropriate financial assessment.

The yacht has been marketed through Edmiston and Ocean Independence, making clear documentation and coordinated enquiries important. Prospective buyers should ask a representative for current commercial terms, inventory and available survey information rather than relying on an outdated brokerage screenshot.

Buyers should compare the complete ownership picture

Acquisition cost is only one part of owning a superyacht of this scale. Crew salaries, insurance, fuel, dockage, refits, compliance and annual maintenance all require a substantial ongoing budget, even when the vessel is not being used intensively.

The adjustment may attract renewed interest, but any buyer should start with the intended cruising programme and the yacht's verified technical condition. A professionally organised inspection and independently reviewed operating budget are better foundations for a decision than the headline reduction alone.
