Wally Performance Trophy Reaches 2026 Finale at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez
Wally’s new Performance Trophy reaches its 2026 season finale at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez after a multi-event maxi-yacht racing campaign.
Romeo Marine’s completed 55-metre flagship is preparing for international exposure after Monaco, marking a major step in the Dubai shipyard’s new-build programme.
Romeo Marine is moving its completed 55-metre flagship toward an international debut after presenting the yacht and its wider new-build programme around the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show. Built in Dubai Maritime City, the 780 GT superyacht is the first major new-build statement from a yard whose background includes superyacht fit-out, refit and rebuild work.
The Romeo 55 uses a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and is designed around a 10-metre beam with accommodation for 12 guests across six cabins. Romeo Marine positions the yacht as a demonstration of the industrial and craft capability it has developed at its Dubai Maritime City facility rather than as a simple extension of its earlier refit activity.
The project combines naval architecture and engineering with extensive interior work from Pulina Exclusive Interiors. Large glazed surfaces, including double-height aft glazing, are used to increase natural light and maintain a stronger visual link between the interior accommodation and the surrounding sea.
Twin MTU main engines give the yacht a published maximum speed of 15 knots, while Romeo Marine states that reducing speed to around 10 knots extends range to approximately 5,200 nautical miles. That operating profile places the yacht firmly in long-range cruising territory rather than prioritising high-speed passages.
The combination of moderate top speed and long-distance range is consistent with the yacht’s full-displacement steel-hull configuration. Owners can therefore plan longer repositioning passages while retaining the interior volume and stability associated with a yacht of roughly 780 gross tonnes.
Romeo Marine highlights a double-volume owner’s suite, panoramic lift and sculptural staircase among the yacht’s defining interior features. The sundeck also includes a pool, bar and barbecue area, while the accommodation arrangement provides six guest cabins for a total of 12 guests.
These features are intended to demonstrate the yard’s ability to move beyond technical construction into highly detailed luxury fit-out. Romeo Marine draws on the wider Romeo Interiors Group’s experience in high-end interiors, giving the project a direct connection between structural build capability and specialist finishing work.
The Romeo 55 is not an isolated project. Romeo Marine is already developing the Romeo 60 as the next yacht in the programme, while its Monaco presence was used to discuss future projects and the yard’s ambition to establish Dubai as a stronger centre for custom superyacht construction.
Superyacht Guide is treating the current development as an international-market and shipyard milestone rather than reporting the yacht as newly launched. The vessel was completed earlier, while the latest significance lies in Romeo Marine bringing the finished project into wider international view and using it to support the yard’s next phase of growth.
