African Boating Conference Adds Southern Africa Superyacht Charter Panel
African Boating Conference 2026 will devote a panel to the practical work needed to make Southern Africa a regularly bookable international superyacht charter region.
The 55.4-metre Turquoise yacht HOLDIN’ MY OWN is entering the Caribbean and Bahamas charter season following an extensive 2026 refit managed around her charter programme.
IYC is offering the 55.4-metre Turquoise motor yacht HOLDIN’ MY OWN for the Caribbean and Bahamas season following a substantial 2026 refit. The six-cabin yacht is advertised from $350,000 per week plus expenses, with work including new audiovisual systems, air-conditioning upgrades, a rebuilt Jacuzzi and refreshed interior and exterior guest areas.
IYC describes the yacht as returning from the first phase of a multi-million-dollar refit before moving into her winter programme. The works included technical systems as well as visible guest-area changes, showing how a charter refit must address reliability and presentation at the same time.
The management company's wider refit guidance notes that major yard periods require parts and contractor planning well in advance. For a charter yacht, schedule control matters because delays can directly affect booked weeks, repositioning plans and the owner's ability to use the vessel privately.
HOLDIN’ MY OWN accommodates up to twelve guests in six cabins, including both a full-beam master suite and a VIP cabin on the main deck. The arrangement gives charter groups flexibility without pushing guest numbers beyond the normal twelve-person limit used by many large-yacht programmes.
The yacht also carries a crew of thirteen, providing a strong guest-to-crew ratio for service-intensive charter use. Crew continuity and familiarisation after a refit are important because changed systems, new equipment and revised guest spaces all have to be integrated into normal onboard routines.
IYC lists state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, a new air-conditioning system, rebuilt Jacuzzi, new carpeting, additional sunshades and changes to bar and furniture layouts among the 2026 works. The exterior programme also supports a broad range of water toys and beach activities.
Refit choices on a charter yacht are often driven by both owner priorities and feedback from the market. Equipment must withstand frequent use, while guest spaces need to photograph well, operate reliably and remain easy for crew to reset between back-to-back charter periods.
The current IYC listing places HOLDIN’ MY OWN in the Caribbean and Bahamas from 1 October, with published weekly rates from $350,000 to $390,000 plus expenses depending on period and availability. Rates and destinations remain subject to change as the charter calendar develops.
Superyacht Guide is recording the post-refit charter programme as a current operational update rather than a new-yacht delivery. Future rate changes, additional refit phases or changes in management should be treated as separate dated developments supported by the yacht's authorised representatives.
