Azimut Yachts has expanded its distributor presence in Mexico through Performance Boats, increasing local sales and support for its Italian-built motoryacht range.
Azimut Yachts has named Performance Boats among the new regional partners in its international dealer network, extending the Italian builder’s presence in Mexico. The appointment forms part of a wider commercial programme announced on 15 October that also includes a New Zealand partnership with The Nautical Group.
For owners of yachts over twenty-four metres, a local dealership can be more than a sales address. The ability to obtain accurate guidance about equipment, service technicians, warranty administration and maintenance planning often determines the quality of the ownership experience after delivery.
The Mexican appointment should be distinguished from the separate New Zealand arrangement, which has already been reported. It addresses a different cruising region, dealership operator and national market, so the operational implications for yacht owners are not identical.
Performance Boats describes itself as a Mexican marine-sales company with experience selling boats and yachts across several brands. Its own website lists Azimut among its represented manufacturers, while the yacht builder’s international dealer directory identifies the company as the official Azimut Yachts Mexico dealer and service centre.
The official listing provides a Mexico City office location and a dedicated point of contact, giving clients a route to begin discussions about the Azimut portfolio and local support. The dealer’s broader marine business includes products for several different leisure-boating segments, so buyers of larger yachts should establish which specialists are assigned to their particular model.
An appointment to the distribution network is not a direct announcement of a newly built superyacht or an order for one. It is a change in the commercial structure through which prospective purchasers and existing owners can access the manufacturer.
Azimut’s current portfolio includes the Grande family, with vessels above twenty-four metres that attract owners seeking more space and international cruising ability. Those buyers normally have more complex requirements than purchasers of small pleasure craft, particularly around delivery logistics, flag registration and crew procedures.
The Mexican operator may offer a local relationship for discussing future acquisitions, but any guarantee of specific maintenance facilities, spare-parts holdings or trained staff should be confirmed directly. Representation of a brand does not mean every service can be performed in every port without advance preparation.
Azimut’s expansion of dealership relationships also reflects the growing importance of ongoing support alongside the initial build quality. An owner moving between the Americas and Europe will benefit from clear responsibilities when technical issues need to be resolved under a warranty or maintenance agreement.
The October announcement links Mexico with a simultaneous effort to build a stronger owner-support structure in New Zealand. Azimut’s partner there, The Nautical Group, is led by James Dalzell and has emphasised technical assistance and aftersales arrangements alongside vessel sales.
The two agreements illustrate how a large yacht manufacturer may rely on regional partners while maintaining a consistent design and production operation at its Italian shipyards. Ensuring consistency in technical documentation, parts identification and service reporting can be as important as expanding showroom coverage.
For yacht owners considering purchase through the Mexican operation, the sensible next step is to establish the exact scope of local service, the applicable contract and the shipyard’s obligations. The change creates another route into the brand, without removing the need for independent assessment of a particular vessel or its lifetime costs.
