The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism has launched Dock Anchor & Discover, a campaign designed to market the islands as a complete superyacht hub rather than only a cruising destination.

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism used Monaco Yacht Show 2026 to launch its Dock Anchor & Discover campaign, widening its pitch to the global superyacht market. The programme presents the country not only through beaches and cruising grounds but through marinas, fixed-base aviation, provisioning, concierge services and the wider support network needed by large yachts.

A Monaco platform for the Bahamas

The ministry took an expanded presence to the 35th Monaco Yacht Show as part of a strategy to increase the country's share of international superyacht activity. The delegation used the Upper Deck Lounge to meet owners, brokers, captains and businesses involved in itinerary planning.

Monaco is important to destination marketing because many yacht movements are influenced months before the vessel arrives. Conversations with management companies and charter brokers can affect winter positioning, marina reservations, provisioning contracts and guest itineraries across the Caribbean season.

The new campaign is designed to show that a visit to the Bahamas can involve more than anchoring off an island. The ministry is promoting marinas, aviation access, yacht services, provisioning and luxury-concierge capability alongside the established appeal of shallow-water cruising and private beaches.

That broader message matters for larger yachts because itinerary decisions are strongly influenced by logistics. Captains need reliable fuel, food, technical support, waste handling, crew movements and airport connections before an owner can use a destination comfortably for an extended period.

Competing for superyacht traffic

The Caribbean and western Atlantic market gives yachts several alternatives for winter cruising, so destinations increasingly compete on service as well as scenery. The Bahamas has a geographic advantage close to Florida, but the campaign shows that government planners are also focusing on the supporting commercial ecosystem.

For charter yachts, regulatory clarity is equally important because brokers need to know whether itineraries can be sold and operated without unexpected administrative obstacles. Promotion is therefore most effective when it is backed by clear customs, immigration, charter and marina procedures.

A destination strategy to watch

The Monaco launch gives the campaign international visibility at the point when many winter programmes are being planned. Its longer-term effect will be measured by yacht calls, charter activity, marina occupancy and spending across the local supply chain rather than by show attendance alone.

Superyacht Guide will continue to track Bahamas marina development and destination policy as separate operational subjects. Dock Anchor & Discover is recorded here as a tourism and marine-business initiative aimed specifically at strengthening the country's position in the superyacht market.
