C-Quip has appointed Floris van Ede to its sales team in the Netherlands, strengthening European support for shipyards, designers and custom superyacht equipment projects.

C-Quip has appointed Floris van Ede to its sales team as the New Zealand specialist in custom superyacht equipment strengthens its presence in Europe. Based in the Netherlands, van Ede will provide a local point of contact for shipyards, designers, clients and industry partners while working with C-Quip’s design and manufacturing operation in New Zealand.

The appointment gives the equipment manufacturer a closer commercial link to European new-build and refit projects. C-Quip says van Ede will support equipment enquiries, new project opportunities and the development of custom solutions for individual yachts.

Superyacht equipment experience

Van Ede brings experience spanning commercial leadership, sales, marine project management and custom carbon-fibre equipment. C-Quip says he previously spent six years as managing director of a specialist custom carbon-fibre equipment company and has worked on equipment delivered for major superyacht projects.

That background is relevant to projects where deck equipment has to be engineered around a yacht’s design, operating profile and installation constraints. C-Quip says his role will therefore extend beyond product sales to understanding how equipment integrates with the yacht and its intended use.

Closer support for European yards

Locating the role in the Netherlands puts C-Quip closer to a large concentration of European shipyards, designers and specialist suppliers. Van Ede will connect those customers with the company’s technical and manufacturing team in New Zealand, supporting both enquiries and development work.

The move reflects the increasingly international supply chain behind large-yacht construction, where specialist equipment may be designed and manufactured far from the shipyard. A European contact can shorten the communication path during specification, engineering and project delivery.

Custom equipment for large yachts

C-Quip designs and manufactures specialist marine equipment, with a particular emphasis on lightweight custom solutions and carbon-fibre structures. Its superyacht work includes equipment developed around the requirements of individual vessels rather than only standard catalogue products.

For Superyacht Guide readers, the appointment is notable as an expansion of a specialist equipment supplier’s European-facing capability rather than simply a personnel change. It gives yards and project teams a Netherlands-based contact backed by C-Quip’s New Zealand engineering and manufacturing operation.

European expansion

C-Quip describes van Ede’s appointment as a step toward strengthening its European superyacht presence. The company expects him to work directly with clients, shipyards, designers and other industry partners as new project opportunities develop.

Van Ede is also an active competitive sailor in the Star Class and ILCA, adding practical sailing experience to his professional marine background. C-Quip announced the appointment on 14 September 2026.
