Camper & Nicholsons has been appointed to oversee construction of the first 30-metre Antonini Navi XPD95, which is scheduled for delivery in summer 2028.
Camper & Nicholsons has been appointed to supervise the construction of the first Antonini Navi XPD95 on behalf of its private owner. The project is approximately 30 metres long, and construction was scheduled to begin in autumn 2026 with delivery targeted for summer 2028.
Daniela Duck will act as the owner's representative, coordinating decisions and communication between the client and the shipyard. Such an appointment provides a point of accountability as the design moves from approved drawings into production, when decisions about layouts and equipment can become costly to change.
The XPD95 is planned with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Sculli & Covini's exterior design uses a high protective bow and wheelhouse forms influenced by offshore tug and expedition vessels, although the owner intends the yacht principally for Mediterranean use.
The project aims to remain below 199 gross tonnes, which makes interior planning and the allocation of enclosed space particularly important. The target should be distinguished from a finally certified measurement, which will only be established through the approved completed vessel.
Hot Lab is responsible for the interior scheme, which includes eucalyptus timber alongside lacquered surfaces, leather, fabrics, metal and natural stone. The designers are attempting to create a luxury environment within a robust-looking exterior, without treating the yacht as a purely commercial explorer.
An owner's deck of approximately 60 square metres combines private interior space with an outside terrace. The broader layout also separates crew circulation from guest areas, allowing service and technical operations to continue without repeatedly crossing principal living spaces.
A roughly 35-square-metre beach area at the aft end is designed to carry a five-metre tender while the yacht is underway and change into a waterside terrace once the tender has been launched. The main-deck cockpit is planned at approximately 44 square metres, while a foredeck lounge adds another outdoor area of about 33 square metres.
Making these spaces multifunctional requires engineering for weight, securing arrangements, safe access and service routes. A successful arrangement depends on how crews handle the tender and prepare the yacht for different activities, not simply the dimensions shown in a general arrangement drawing.
The appointment follows an extensive period of owner-led customisation, giving the construction-management team a defined specification against which progress can be checked. It is an existing sold project with planned construction and delivery dates, not a yacht already launched.
As the first XPD95 advances, useful updates will concern hull construction, machinery installation, final outfit and sea-trial results. The presence of an owner's representative does not eliminate schedule risks, but it provides a professional structure for managing them.
