D-Marin announces a proposed acquisition of Porto San Rocco near Trieste, with 546 berths accommodating yachts from 8 to 60 metres; regulatory approvals remain outstanding.
D-Marin has announced an agreement to acquire Porto San Rocco Marina Resort in Muggia, near Trieste, strengthening its position in the Northern Adriatic. The marina has 546 berths designed to accommodate yachts from eight metres to 60 metres and lies close to routes linking Italy with Slovenia and Croatia.
The announcement was issued on October 12, 2026, but the company confirms that completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals. The marina should therefore not yet be described as having changed legal ownership or as an acquisition completed without conditions.
D-Marin says that Italy has become the largest national component of its portfolio, growing from one marina in 2023 to nine when the announced addition is counted. The company has not disclosed the transaction price or a definitive closing date in the public statement.
Located in the Gulf of Trieste, the marina can serve as a base for travel along the northern Italian coast and onward to destinations in Slovenia and Croatia. The ability to welcome yachts up to 60 metres makes it relevant to captains planning berthing arrangements for larger private and charter vessels.
Porto San Rocco combines berthing infrastructure with hotels, restaurants, retail, a swimming pool, fitness amenities and a fuel station. Those services can be important to visiting owners and crew spending several days in port, particularly during changes of guests or preparations for a longer passage.
The 546-berth capacity quoted by the company covers a broad range of vessel sizes, rather than being a count of berths capable of accepting 60-metre yachts. Captains still need to confirm available length, draft, shore power, manoeuvring arrangements and reservation conditions with the marina.
D-Marin already operates or is involved with other Italian marina destinations including Punta Faro in the Northern Adriatic and facilities along the Ligurian, Tuscan and Sardinian coasts. Porto San Rocco could strengthen the connection between those Italian locations and the group's existing Croatian portfolio.
Chief executive Oliver Dörschuck describes the site as a natural fit for the wider network, highlighting its potential for yachts up to 60 metres and its relationship with the neighbouring cruising regions. The company says its intention is to build on the facility's established services and engage with the local community.
An integrated marina network can offer customers familiar booking and service procedures, but it does not eliminate local conditions. Differences in weather exposure, border formalities, underwater depth and the availability of suitable technical support still influence the planning of every voyage.
D-Marin says Intesa Sanpaolo's IMI Corporate and Investment Banking division advised on the financial side, with Latham & Watkins handling legal and contractual matters. The involvement of those advisers identifies the structure of the transaction process, but does not establish any undisclosed financing figure.
Until the required approvals are secured, owners and captains should continue using the marina's published procedures and confirm which organisation is responsible for contractual arrangements. A corporate announcement should not be treated as an instruction to change payments or existing reservations.
The development is a substantial marina-business announcement rather than a completed upgrade of the waterfront or an immediate expansion in available superyacht berths. The photograph accompanying this report comes from D-Marin's own Porto San Rocco announcement and depicts the relevant marina.
