Delta Marine Launches 46.3m Explorer Yacht Zembra in Seattle

Aug. 23, 2026 Launch Zembra Delta Marine

Delta Marine has launched the 46.3-metre explorer yacht Zembra in Seattle, combining transoceanic capability with aircraft, submersible and helicopter operations.

Delta Marine has launched the 46.3-metre explorer yacht Zembra at its Seattle shipyard, moving one of the American builder's most adventure-focused projects into the final stages before delivery. The full-displacement yacht was conceived around long-distance travel, combining conventional superyacht accommodation with equipment for aerial, underwater and remote-region exploration.

Built for exploration rather than convention

Zembra is based on Delta Marine's proven full-displacement platform and was developed for experienced owners with an extensive background in cruising and yacht ownership. Delta describes the yacht as a transoceanic platform engineered for global travel, deep-sea diving and aerial exploration rather than a conventional yacht carrying expedition styling alone.

The yacht's exterior is distinguished by a metallic Arizona bronze finish, large glazed areas and clean angular lines that give the project a purposeful profile. Delta says the owners were closely involved throughout the design process, working with the yard to ensure the yacht's form and engineering supported their intended long-range cruising programme.

Aircraft, submersible and serious deck machinery

The equipment package illustrates the scale of Zembra's exploration brief, with a private helicopter landing area accompanied by a two-person ICON A5 amphibious aircraft and a three-passenger U-Boat Worx submersible. This allows the yacht's operating programme to extend above and below the water as well as into destinations accessible only by sea.

Handling that equipment required substantial integration into the yacht itself rather than treating the aircraft and submersible as accessories added late in the project. Delta specifies a 3,500-pound safe-working-load boom crane on the bridge deck and a gantry crane at the stern, while a Williams Jet Tender and additional water toys are stored inboard to preserve the yacht's exterior profile.

Five staterooms and accessibility across the yacht

Accommodation is arranged around five staterooms, led by a full-beam owner's suite on the main deck and four large guest cabins below. One guest cabin is wheelchair accessible, while an elevator provides access between decks and makes accessibility an integrated part of the yacht's arrangement.

Delta has also incorporated a convertible gym and other spaces intended to support extended periods aboard while balancing the considerable expedition equipment carried outside. The builder says Zembra will be available for charter through Northrop & Johnson, giving charter guests access to a highly specialised custom Delta platform.

Launch marks the next stage for Zembra

The launch represents a major transition for the project after Delta previously completed structural work by joining the hull and superstructure at its Seattle facility. With the yacht now afloat, attention moves to the remaining outfitting and commissioning programme ahead of final delivery.

For Delta Marine, Zembra is a particularly clear expression of the yard's long-standing emphasis on capable ocean-going custom yachts. Instead of using the explorer label primarily as an aesthetic, the project has been developed around the practical challenge of carrying aircraft, a submersible, tenders and specialist equipment while retaining the accommodation expected from a contemporary superyacht.
