Fountaine Pajot Group and Atalanta Marine have created Fountaine Pajot Group Greece, an Athens-based venture representing three brands with regional sales and owner support.
Fountaine Pajot Group and Atalanta Marine have formed Fountaine Pajot Group Greece, a joint venture intended to represent the French boatbuilder's three brands in Greece and Cyprus. The companies' October 2026 announcement brings yacht sales, administrative assistance and technical support within one locally based structure.
The initiative is a change to the commercial and support network rather than a new vessel delivery. It is relevant to owners of larger sailing and motor catamarans who operate around Greek islands, where a reliable service contact can simplify maintenance and help plan cruising periods between scheduled yard visits.
The new business will represent Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans, Fountaine Pajot Yachts and Dufour. Those brands serve distinct parts of the sailing and motor-yacht market, from production monohulls to substantial private and charter catamarans.
Owners choosing a catamaran for Mediterranean cruising have to evaluate beam, marina access, guest accommodation and machinery requirements as well as length. A service organisation spanning several brands may be able to advise on different platforms, but enquiries should still be handled by specialists familiar with the exact model and its technical configuration.
Fountaine Pajot and Atalanta Marine have maintained a commercial relationship for almost fifteen years. Their move to a joint venture coincides with the fiftieth anniversaries of both organisations in 2026, providing a backdrop to a more formal arrangement for the eastern Mediterranean.
The existing relationship is important because yacht owners often depend on long-term technical knowledge. A new corporate structure can bring clearer responsibilities, but it will be judged on service continuity and the practical support delivered to clients rather than the length of the previous association alone.
Fountaine Pajot Group Greece will operate near Alimos Marina in Athens, an important gateway for private yachts and charter fleets heading toward the Saronic Gulf and the Cyclades. The area provides access to marine suppliers, transport and professional services required for both routine operations and more substantial work.
A convenient office location does not guarantee that every repair can be completed immediately. Owners should verify workshop arrangements, local parts stock, approved technicians and the lead times for work that must be referred to the original builder or another specialist.
The joint venture will be headed by Panos Douros, whose career includes yacht sales and more than thirty-five years of sailing and racing experience. The appointment gives the new organisation a senior manager familiar with both commercial yacht transactions and the operating environment.
That background can help in discussions about charter requirements, deck handling and the selection of equipment, but owners should still request documented specifications and independent advice for major purchases. Practical experience and formal engineering approval address different parts of a yacht decision.
Greece is a substantial charter market, and multihulls are particularly attractive to groups seeking spacious accommodation and access to numerous islands. The new operation intends to build stronger links with private owners and charter companies while providing sales, administrative and technical assistance.
Charter fleets require dependable access to spares and repairs during the busy summer period. A service issue that is manageable in winter can become costly when guests are due to arrive, making preventive maintenance and realistic lead-time planning especially important.
The company says it will develop sales of the Fountaine Pajot Yachts line while expanding the group’s sailing-catamaran and Dufour activities. Larger multihulls require careful coordination between vessel design, technical servicing and marina arrangements, especially where the owner's programme includes several countries.
The announcement does not identify a newly signed superyacht contract or state that any one future model has already been ordered through the joint venture. Interested buyers should confirm the current model catalogue, availability and commercial arrangements with the new team.
Fountaine Pajot deputy chief executive Steven Guedeu emphasised the value of combining the company's industrial expertise with Atalanta Marine's local market knowledge. Atalanta founder George Ertsos likewise described closer cooperation with yacht owners and charter businesses as part of the plan.
The result could be a more coordinated service route for customers travelling between Greek and Cypriot waters, but only subsequent activity will show how quickly the new business becomes established. The confirmed development is the formation of Fountaine Pajot Group Greece and its intended role supporting three marine brands.
