Hainan Clear Water Bay Marina Gains International Yacht Port Approval

Clear Water Bay Yacht Club in Hainan says its port area received approval in July 2026 to open to international yachts. The operator published the development on 8 September, describing the approval as a step toward serving visiting overseas yachts and Chinese yachts making international voyages.

The announcement concerns approval for the marina's waters and berthing infrastructure; it does not give a verified first operating date for every customs and immigration service. Captains considering arrival should confirm the current port-opening status and clearance procedures with the operator and competent authorities before planning an international entry.

Current berths versus planned capacity

The club's official information gives 301 completed berths in its first phase, including 32 allocated to superyachts. The largest vessels it says it can accommodate measure up to 220 feet, subject to the availability and operating limits of an individual berth.

A total of 873 berths appears in the marina's master plan, but the operator distinguishes that target from the 301 berths already built. It would be incorrect to describe all 873 spaces as operational or to suggest the planned expansion is complete.

Shore facilities and the Hainan market

The club describes a harbour basin of approximately 380,000 square metres with fuelling, maintenance and oily-water collection facilities. Owners and captains will still need to check draught, electricity, fuel availability and waste-handling arrangements for their specific yacht.

The operator expects international access to help connect its Hainan base with wider South China Sea cruising and related marine services. However, authorisation alone does not demonstrate an increase in visiting-yacht traffic or prove that every operational approval is already in force.

What visiting yachts should confirm

The published notice refers to a longer permitted stay for some visiting foreign yachts, but eligibility and current legal conditions require confirmation with the relevant authorities. This article does not interpret that policy as a universal right to remain for a particular duration.
