IGY Marinas has appointed Monaco-based Manashi Das to guide the European expansion of its Trident owners club, which serves superyachts of at least 24 metres.

A European appointment focused on owners and captains

IGY Marinas has appointed Manashi Das as European Director of Trident Membership Development and Strategies, with a Monaco-based remit to develop its invitation-led owners club across Europe. The company announced the appointment on 2 October as part of its efforts to widen the European reach of the programme for owners of superyachts measuring at least 24 metres.

Das brings experience working aboard superyachts and in yacht brokerage, according to the operator. That combination is relevant to a membership proposition aimed not only at the owner but also at the captain, management team and professional advisers responsible for making a complicated itinerary function in practice.

Why berthing certainty is central to the offer

IGY describes assured and priority berthing as a central benefit of its Trident programme, together with an enhanced range of services in some of the most sought-after cruising locations. Its European marina network includes Vieux-Port de Cannes and Porto Cervo, where owners and captains may need to coordinate arrivals around very busy seasonal schedules.

For a large yacht, an intended destination can be operationally attractive yet difficult to include on a fixed itinerary unless berth suitability and availability have been agreed well ahead of time. Length, beam, draft, shore connections and tender operations all influence whether the berth allocated actually meets the yacht’s requirements.

Member benefits should therefore be read as a service commitment subject to the programme terms and the operational limitations of each marina. The general proposition may simplify planning, but it does not remove the captain’s responsibility to confirm safe arrival conditions or obtain the proper berth and port clearances.

Beyond the berth: services across an itinerary

IGY sets out additional membership benefits involving personalised experiences, preferred pricing, crew development, yacht agency assistance and access to specialist logistics support. The company also identifies global bunkering advice and connections for private aviation as elements of the wider Trident offering.

These services matter because an owner’s journey is rarely confined to the marina stay itself. Shore transfers, refuelling windows, guest arrivals, provisioning and crew changeovers can create a chain of separate arrangements, and an alteration in one part of the programme may affect several others.

A coordinated relationship with multiple destinations can potentially shorten the time spent repeating the same requirements with different operators. The value will depend on the yacht’s cruising pattern, how often it uses participating marinas and the practical delivery of promised services rather than on the list of benefits alone.

A programme directed at the 24-metre-plus sector

IGY says the Trident membership is intended for superyachts of 80 feet, or about 24 metres, and above. That threshold places the initiative firmly in the sector where professional crewing, complex port logistics and bespoke guest expectations commonly shape the operating brief.

The appointment highlights how marina businesses are competing through access, continuity and destination services as well as traditional dockage. Owners can compare programme coverage against their expected Mediterranean and Caribbean movements, while captains can consider whether the network’s operating practices suit the vessel.

Membership should still be evaluated alongside ordinary berthing alternatives and the yacht’s annual budget. Benefits such as preferential arrangements or individual event invitations are not the same as a quantified saving, and owners would need to review the actual agreement before assessing the commercial case.

IGY says Das will work with its European destination teams to develop relationships with owners and their representatives. The near-term significance is a more dedicated point of contact for a club positioned around assured marina access and coordinated support rather than simply a berth booking service.
