Naumatec's redesigned 7.98m Freccia 800 combines sports-tender performance with a more relaxed guest layout, after its presentation at the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show.
Naumatec has introduced a thoroughly revised version of its Freccia 800 tender, bringing the approximately eight-metre RIB back to the spotlight at the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show. An industry report released on 16 October describes a new arrangement of onboard space intended to combine the model's sporting character with a more relaxed guest experience.
The Freccia was the model associated with the company's early development after it was founded in 2005 by designer Federico Fiorentino. The latest redesign is therefore an evolution of an established concept, not evidence that a wholly new superyacht has been launched. Its relevance to larger yachts lies in how a tender can accommodate transfers and short coastal trips while fitting the mothership's operating arrangements.
The Monaco Yacht Show's official entry lists a length of 7.98 metres and beam of 2.75 metres for the 2026 Freccia 800, with a single-engine layout and capacity for up to ten people. The show specifications quote a cruising speed of thirty knots and a maximum speed of forty-three knots. These are supplier-provided figures rather than a guarantee for every loaded boat.
For captains, a tender's practical usefulness depends on the propulsion package selected, sea conditions, passengers and cargo. High speed is not always the preferred operating mode when transferring guests in an exposed anchorage. Ease of boarding, reliable steering and predictable behaviour at low speed often matter more than the highest number in a brochure.
Naumatec's new presentation highlights an interior layout that feels more like a sheltered lounge than a bare performance boat. Wide bulwarks protect the seating area, while an aft platform offers access for swimming and time at anchor. The intention is to provide a useful guest craft rather than a tender that exists only to cover the distance between yacht and quay.
Layout choices need to be evaluated in context. Comfortable seating and large cushions can improve a short journey, but the crew must still have safe routes to handle lines, assist passengers and work around the engine. Owners should inspect handholds, storage and the movement of people when everyone aboard is wearing normal excursion equipment.
Federico Fiorentino's name is closely associated with Naumatec's high-performance hulls and the Freccia family's distinctive appearance. The company developed much of its identity around testing and fast RIB design, a different emphasis from tenders that prioritise carrying the largest possible number of passengers in complete enclosure.
That heritage helps explain the dramatic lines retained in the redesign, but performance should be judged from the 2026 configuration rather than inferred from earlier racing craft. Hull construction, weight, fuel distribution and the engine fitted to an owner's boat can all influence handling. The latest model should therefore be evaluated on its own specifications and proper trials.
Naumatec has developed families under the Freccia and Tenderlux names, with products intended for different roles and yacht garage capacities. It is now part of the Nuova Jolly Marine group, bringing the heritage of a specialised performance-tender brand into a broader marine manufacturing organisation.
The company offers multiple propulsion and customisation possibilities across its range. For a superyacht owner, selecting a tender from an established family can simplify conversations with builders and service providers, but the exact package matters. The dealer should confirm which options apply to the new Freccia 800 rather than assume specifications from another Naumatec model carry over.
An eight-metre tender can occupy a substantial amount of space in a yacht's garage or on an open deck. Length overall is only one dimension: lift points, dry weight, folded equipment height, fuel load and maintenance clearances must all be coordinated with the mothership before a boat is ordered.
A yacht's crane capacity and launching method may impose limits that are not visible in an attractive exterior photograph. Designers should also consider how the tender is secured for a passage and whether it can be serviced without being removed from the vessel. These are particularly important questions for an owner fitting a larger tender into a previously completed yacht.
The Freccia's open arrangement makes it potentially attractive for coastal runs, watersports and guest transfers in suitable conditions. Yet the requirements of carrying guests in evening clothing or travelling to a busy marina may differ sharply from those of a fast daylight excursion.
Owners should consider spray protection, boarding assistance, fender placement, noise and the crew's ability to communicate instructions clearly while under way. An elegant tender becomes an extension of the superyacht's service when it performs the ordinary tasks reliably, not merely when it looks striking alongside the main vessel.
The new Freccia 800 was exhibited at Monaco as a 2026 model, and the company has since set out its approach to the redesigned deck and guest area. That is the current product milestone. The accompanying manufacturer archive photograph illustrates an earlier Freccia 800 configuration and should not be mistaken for a photograph of the redesigned exhibition vessel.
Prospective buyers should request the latest images, as-built dimensions and quotation from Naumatec or its authorised representative. The 2026 debut is an opportunity to reassess the model's role as a superyacht tender, but actual speed, comfort and ease of ownership can only be established with the completed specification and conditions relevant to the mothership.
