Dubai-based OceanWorld Group is joining Wider Luxembourg's shareholding structure, providing new capital to support the Italian shipyard's industrial and international expansion plans.
OceanWorld Group has formally joined the shareholding structure of Wider's holding company through a capital increase, beginning a staged investment scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026. Wider says the new capital will support product development, internationalisation and expansion of its global commercial network.
OceanWorld's investment is being made through a capital increase rather than a simple transfer of existing shares. That means fresh funds enter the business to support the shipyard's development programme, giving the partnership a direct link to future products and commercial expansion.
Wider intends to retain its industrial roots in Italy's Marche region while broadening its reach in major international yachting centres. The challenge will be expanding sales and product range without diluting the engineering identity that has distinguished the brand's recent hybrid and custom projects.
Wider and OceanWorld were already collaborating before the shareholding agreement, including work around the Oceans Yachts brand and the Oceans 47 concept presented in 2025. Vripack Design Studio contributed to that first project, establishing a practical working relationship before capital was committed.
That sequence can reduce integration risk because the partners have already tested how their teams work together on product development. The investment now gives them a stronger commercial structure for extending the collaboration beyond a single yacht concept.
Dubai-based OceanWorld provides boat sales, international shipping, maintenance, care and charter services. That customer-facing activity can give Wider access to owners and operators in a region where marina capacity, yacht ownership and high-end tourism are all expanding.
For Wider, regional support can be as important as initial sales because owners expect technical assistance after delivery. A partner with local operational capability can shorten the distance between an Italian shipyard and yachts spending much of their time in the Middle East or Asia.
Shipyards are increasingly using outside capital and regional partners to fund new models, capacity and international distribution. Such deals can accelerate growth, but they also create pressure to demonstrate that investment produces stronger deliveries and owner service rather than simply more ambitious announcements.
Wider's next phase will therefore be judged by the projects that emerge from the industrial plan and how effectively OceanWorld supports global market access. The staged structure gives both sides time to deepen the relationship while preserving continuity at the shipyard.
