Greek RIB specialist RIBCO completes a three-show September programme, presenting the Venom 45 SC sterndrive and 28T in Cannes and Monaco, followed by Venom 34 at Genoa.

A three-show September campaign

Greek high-performance RIB builder RIBCO has completed a September programme spanning the Cannes Yachting Festival, Monaco Yacht Show and Genoa International Boat Show. The company confirmed the exhibition schedule and model lineup in an official report published on 9 October 2026, describing a month of presentations aimed at boat owners, dealers and premium tender buyers.

The most prominent model was the Venom 45 SC Sterndrive, which made its international debut in Cannes with local dealer Monaco RIB Boats. RIBCO says the boat combines a triple-stepped hull with more generous accommodation and deck areas than an exclusively utilitarian rigid inflatable. The company's account details an exhibition debut, not an independent certified speed record or a sale to a named superyacht.

Venom 45 SC and the drive package

The displayed sterndrive version uses twin Volvo Penta D6-440 engines, according to the manufacturer. That power arrangement is relevant to buyers comparing premium chase boats that must travel longer distances while providing seating, storage and weather protection. The performance of any particular specification will depend on engine configuration, load, propellers and conditions rather than the model name alone.

Triple-stepped hull geometry is one approach to managing how a fast boat runs at speed, but it is not a guarantee of handling behaviour in every sea state. Professional operators should assess practical sightlines, boarding arrangements, tender lifts, crew access and full-load trials before judging whether a high-performance RIB fits its intended role.

Monaco links to the superyacht tender market

RIBCO and Monaco RIB Boats took the Venom 45 SC Sterndrive and the 28T to the Monaco Yacht Show, placing them alongside large yachts and their supporting equipment at Port Hercule. Their presence highlights the use of well-finished performance craft as shore tenders and chase boats, even though the RIBs themselves are not the same size class as the superyachts they may serve.

Tender selection on a large yacht involves issues beyond maximum speed: garage dimensions, lifting points, boarding height, passenger comfort, towing options, refuelling procedures and support arrangements. A 45-foot RIB may be better suited to operating alongside a yacht or from a support berth than being lifted into a conventional compact tender garage, depending on the parent vessel.

Venom 34 closes the tour in Genoa

The final stop was Genoa, where the company's Italian dealer IMD Boats exhibited the Venom 34. The smaller model broadens the trade-show presentation beyond the twin-D6 Venom 45 SC and gives buyers a more compact option to consider for coastal operations or guest movement.

RIBCO is based near Athens and says its experience now spans more than three decades. Its sales network includes Monaco RIB Boats in the French Riviera market and representatives in several other countries. The report is illustrated with an original manufacturer image from the October exhibition roundup, rather than an unrelated generic yacht or a competitor's photograph.

Crew training also matters for fast support craft. A tender used to take guests ashore may be driven at lower speeds for most of its working life, with occasional higher-speed passages or more demanding offshore conditions. Seating restraints, safe boarding routines, visibility over the bow, communications with the parent yacht and robust weather procedures are more directly connected to professional tender suitability than a showroom top-speed claim. Those operational factors belong in any purchasing trial.
