Ultimo Yachts completes the sale of 2016 Sanlorenzo 26.76m motor yacht YAZ, formerly TWIN FISH and THE GREAT ESCAPE, after a €3.25m listing.
Ultimo Yachts has completed the brokerage sale of YAZ, a 26.76-metre Sanlorenzo motor yacht delivered in 2016. The boat previously carried the names TWIN FISH and THE GREAT ESCAPE and had been offered with an asking price of €3.25 million. The announcement confirms a transaction, but does not disclose the final amount paid or the identity of the purchaser.
For buyers in the sub-30-metre superyacht segment, the sale provides another example of activity involving established Italian production-derived platforms. A ten-year-old yacht can offer immediate access to cruising space and a proven operating history, provided prospective owners pay attention to machinery condition, refit work and the accuracy of the advertised inventory.
Sanlorenzo's technical department developed the yacht's naval architecture, while Officina Italiana Design drew the exterior and Laura Sessa was responsible for interior styling. The GRP construction gives YAZ a different maintenance profile from aluminium or steel yachts, particularly in relation to laminate inspection, paintwork and repairs following grounding or impact.
The vessel measures 6.35 metres across the beam and has a reported enclosed volume of 113 gross tonnes. That volume should not be confused with displacement weight. Rather, it helps describe the internal space available for accommodation, machinery and circulation, all of which affect how the boat is experienced on longer trips.
YAZ accommodates up to ten guests through a four-cabin arrangement, including the owner's area, a VIP cabin, a convertible double and a twin cabin fitted with additional berths. Crew accommodation is separated and arranged for three, including the captain. The flexibility of the guest spaces may appeal to families, although the use of supplementary berths needs confirming against certification.
Her metallic-grey hull and design language are characteristic of a performance-oriented Italian yacht rather than a heavy long-distance displacement ship. The published maximum speed is around 30 knots, a figure relevant to owners moving quickly between cruising destinations, but actual results will depend on loading, weather and mechanical condition.
The seller-side brokerage statement does not provide a new operating programme, delivery port or refit specification for the yacht following the sale. Any buyer of a comparable vessel should review historical surveys, outstanding technical recommendations, equipment hours and ownership documents before estimating ongoing costs.
The confirmed news is the transfer of this particular Sanlorenzo, not a wider claim that pricing for all 27-metre yachts has changed. The earlier €3.25 million figure was an asking price rather than a verified closing valuation. Comparisons with competing yachts should account for the actual age and condition of each hull.
