British Marine says the 57th Southampton International Boat Show drew 91,160 visitors, more than 25 boat debuts and 20 launches of marine technology, equipment and gear.

Southampton International Boat Show closed its 57th edition with 91,160 visitors and a programme that mixed boats with a substantial marine-equipment and technology presence. British Marine, the organiser, says the ten-day event at Mayflower Park included more than 500 watercraft, over 25 world, UK and show boat debuts, and 20 launches of marine technology, equipment and gear.

Technology launches broaden the industry picture

The equipment figure matters to the wider yacht sector because Southampton is not simply an owner-facing display of finished boats. Electronics, propulsion, deck equipment, coatings, safety products, marina services and other technical businesses use the show to meet boatbuilders, dealers, operators and customers, creating a useful cross-section of the marine supply chain.

British Marine did not identify all 20 technology and equipment launches in its closing release, so the total should not be read as a list of products already assessed by Superyacht Guide. Individual systems still need to be checked against manufacturer specifications and their suitability for large-yacht applications before separate coverage.

More than 500 watercraft across the show

The organiser reports more than 500 watercraft across the event, including the purpose-built show marina and displays ashore. Earlier official information put more than 250 boats in the marina, while the overall fleet ranged from small craft through production yachts to the limited number of vessels above the 24-metre superyacht threshold.

That breadth gives Southampton a different role from Monaco Yacht Show. For the superyacht industry, its significance lies partly in British yachtbuilding, design and equipment expertise and partly in technologies that can move from smaller production craft into larger custom and semi-custom projects.

Commercial activity and industry engagement

British Marine says exhibitors reported sales, orders, enquiries and customer engagement during the show, and cited an exhibitor completing a boat sale within the first hour of opening day. The closing report also records more than 110 talks, workshops and demonstrations, alongside trade and skills programmes running through the event.

Those statements are organiser-reported indicators rather than an audited measure of total transaction value. They nevertheless show why Southampton remains commercially important to UK marine businesses even when much of the displayed fleet sits below the size range normally followed by Superyacht Guide.

2027 shifts to an eight-day format

Attention has already moved to the next edition, which is scheduled for 18–25 September 2027 at Mayflower Park. British Marine has announced an eight-day Saturday-to-Saturday format and says Fairline, Princess Yachts and Sunseeker have committed to return, while the venue has been secured for at least the next three years.

The shorter format is intended to concentrate visitor activity and reduce some of the practical demands on exhibitors while retaining three weekend trading days. Further reporting will depend on confirmed exhibitors, large-yacht attendance and technical launches as the 2027 programme develops.
