Tankoa is expanding the integrated role of its Civitavecchia and Genoa facilities across steelwork, systems, outfitting, commissioning and delivery.
Tankoa Yachts is strengthening the connection between its Civitavecchia and Genoa facilities as part of an integrated production model for custom superyachts. The company says the two sites are organised to function as one industrial system rather than as separate yards.
Civitavecchia covers more than 34,000 square metres within the port area and is focused on core construction phases. Steelwork, systems installation and early outfitting can be completed there before a yacht transfers north for the final stages.
Once the principal construction work is complete, hulls move to Genoa for final outfitting, commissioning, sea trials and delivery. Tankoa says this sequence allows the same quality standards and project controls to remain in place from structure through handover.
The approach also gives the builder more flexibility in allocating work between sites. Larger custom programmes can progress in parallel while specialist teams concentrate on the stages best suited to each facility.
Investment in Civitavecchia expands Tankoa’s ability to handle technically demanding full-custom yachts without relying solely on its Genoa footprint. The yard presents the arrangement as a way to increase industrial capacity while keeping owner-specific craftsmanship at the centre of each project.
For owners and project managers, the practical value will be measured in schedule control and continuity between construction phases. Tankoa is using the two-yard model to support growth while keeping final commissioning and delivery anchored in Genoa.
