The 38.1m Westport SERENITY has changed hands with Denison introducing the buyer and Worth Avenue representing the seller, according to an October 15 transaction report.

A Westport 125 changes hands

The 38.1-metre Westport motor yacht SERENITY has been sold, in a transaction reported on 15 October by SuperYacht Times. Its account identifies Drew Offerdahl of Denison Yachting as introducing the buyer, with Michael Mahan and Shannon McCoy of Worth Avenue Yachts representing the seller.

The announcement concerns a completed brokerage transaction rather than a new asking price or another marketing campaign for the vessel. The final consideration has not been disclosed, so the previously advertised figure must not be reported as the amount ultimately paid.

SERENITY was delivered in 2018 as the third vessel in Westport’s 125 series, a production family built around a particular approach to volume, accommodation and performance. A buyer acquiring an established vessel can review its individual service and refit history in addition to the original design.

Design and onboard accommodation

Westport carried out the yacht’s naval architecture and exterior design, while Holly Hunt Design created customised interiors. This combination brings the technical platform of a recognised American shipyard together with an interior conceived for a specific owner and guest experience.

The yacht is reported to have 329 gross tonnes of enclosed volume and accommodation in four guest staterooms. Those comprise an owner’s suite, a VIP suite and two double cabins, although a purchaser should still confirm the detailed floor plan and any changes made after delivery.

Notable leisure facilities include a lower-deck gym, a Jacuzzi and a split-level sundeck with areas intended for entertaining and relaxation. Such amenities can be attractive to buyers, but their value depends on the actual condition and the crew resources needed to keep them operating consistently.

Twin MTU propulsion and the Westport profile

SERENITY is equipped with twin MTU engines, and the published specification gives a cruising speed of approximately twenty knots and a maximum speed of twenty-five knots. These are reported performance figures, not results from an independent trial conducted for the present transaction.

Machinery condition and maintenance records are especially important on a vessel offering relatively brisk cruising for its size. Prospective owners need to look beyond the engine model to fuel-system health, cooling, drivetrain condition and how the yacht has been operated between maintenance periods.

The Westport 125 was conceived to offer a balance between US-style motoryacht accommodation and practical operation for an experienced crew. Whether that combination serves the new owner will depend on anticipated cruising regions, berth limitations and preferences around voyage speed.

Brokerage context and confirmed facts

SuperYacht Times recorded a last-known asking price of USD 17.9 million before the sale, but neither the transaction report nor the available brokerage information confirms the final price. Reporting a negotiated sale as taking place at the asking figure would give a misleading impression of market evidence.

The involvement of brokers on both sides reflects a common structure in yacht transactions, where sellers and purchasers may each rely on specialist representation. Survey work, title verification and negotiation of delivery conditions remain important regardless of the reputations of the parties involved.

The transfer is another recent sale in the thirty-to-forty-metre segment, but a single deal cannot establish a broad market trend. More meaningful pricing analysis requires verified transaction figures and comparable vessels, including condition, age and tax treatment.
