Fraser confirms the sale of a Dutch-built cruising ketch

Fraser has announced the sale of ANTARES, the 40-metre Royal Huisman sailing yacht delivered in 2005. In its 23 October notice, the brokerage identifies Georges Bourgoignie of Fraser Yachts Florida as representing both buyer and seller; the achieved sale price and the buyer’s identity were not disclosed.

The announcement also records Bourgoignie’s involvement in the yacht’s earlier sale in 2017. Royal Huisman’s own project archive independently confirms the build year, length and yard identity, providing a separate reference for the yacht’s origins rather than relying solely on the sales announcement.

Separate design roles behind the family brief

Royal Huisman lists ANTARES as yard number 379, with naval architecture by Dixon Yacht Design and interiors by Rhoades Young Design. Its description of the original brief centres on a seaworthy, easily driven ketch for an extended family, with four guest staterooms and a carbon rig and rudder.

The shipyard also describes an aft carbon coaming incorporating a powered stern swimming and boarding platform. These details help explain the original relationship between sailing performance, family accommodation and access to the water, while keeping the naval architect and interior designer clearly distinguished.

Recent work and the limits of the sale announcement

Fraser reports a most recent refit in 2025 and accommodation for up to ten guests across four staterooms. Its published description includes a protected cockpit and living spaces intended for extended cruising, but does not set out the full scope or cost of that refit.

The confirmed development is a change of ownership, not a new-build delivery or an announced charter programme. Further background is available in the Royal Huisman project archive; the broker’s dated sale notice is the source for the completed transaction.
